Wait, maybe Ijust only saw him when he was chilling. I was at work all day so... Now he's up and basking under his UVB... And throwing this crazy spotted dark black spine that i haven't seen yet!
Today he's being kind of weird, just seems very chill. He's been in the middle of his cage and had his tail curled up. Do they ever get stressed out from a shed? Would it affect their behavior?
Also I swapped out the plant and that was a significant environment change for him, I'm wondering of...
So I ran home yesterday at lunch to swap out Leo's plant that was dying... I noticed he was looking a bit dehydrated and wanted to take care of it quick. But when I walked into the room...
HIS FIRST SHED!!! Finally.
p.s. SolidSnake be jealous! I got to see the whole thing :D
I do have quite thick foliage in there, and I feel like unless he is on top of the plant he doesn't really get any UVB exposure (although I don't have a solarmeter so that's conjecture) so I'm just concerned. Would it be ok to use the 12% or 10.0? It's an 18x18x36 cage and a 5 month old Panther
True! However...
I got my t8 for free when I took my cage from a lady who had already killed 2 chams and needed to stop...
So I'm not concerned :) If it's better for the cham and plants then I'd go for it.
ALSO, I think the one I linked to is not a t5 actually... so... oops.
I'm going to be buying my next tube soon, and just wanted to see what people thought.
Are the Arcadias just too new to be well known over here? have they been found to be too bright for Chams? Or are they perfect, and something I should buy?
Please argue about it! I learn more that way :D
He has such long thin limbs! I think gizmo was a good suggestion, and it's a name from a legendary sire... whom I think passed away?
First thing I thought of was longshanks... haha.
He looks like a cute alien to me, so maybe GAZOO!!! like the flintstones
I recently added a grow light in hopes of saving a dying plant but no luck it was too far gone.
How do you guys repot them? I had it growing great and then I repotted it once I got the chameleon and it's now completely dead.
I am feeling like not repotting the next, but instead just washing...
I had no idea there was another Leo! Uh-oh, I'm going to have to call him by his full name, Chameleonardo, now. ;)
Glad the name is shared with a beautiful Cham.
I keep coming back to this post because all the beautiful chameleons that are so vibrant and diverse make me very happy!
Seems like they have found chameleon paradise.
Just buy a few flat tackle boxes with SEPARATE compartments. Place the number of supers you wish to breed (try like 50-100 for a steady colony) into SEPARATE tackle compartments with NO FOOD to force them to pupate (the whole point of larvae is to collect the fuel it needs to pupate and mate)...
They're all very beautiful. Seems like you take very good care.
I'm so excited to see if Leo grows up to look similar to hendershot, that would be incredible, as he is very handsome.
