He is a big stud! (or he'll be one eventually) I'm trying to figure out though, what the normal ages are for development. He really seems to be taking his time with the growth and development. Although he may be beginning to shoot up a bit...
What have all of you experienced? I've heard...
If you look at the bottom, from front to back between his rear legs, there's a vent, followed by a space, and then what looks like a flexed bicep or muscle, that is a "bulge" it's where there hemipenes grow into. It's the only sure way of know a male from a female.
Yours is very pretty by the...
Just to take out the guesswork, it's a great idea to fill out this form when you get your first Cham, it will really help people here get an idea of your setup, and you'll get instant and great feedback on any changes that should be made. Here's the form:

Leo does the same thing :) We're just big scary monsters to them. The best pics I've gotten were when I've coerced him onto an orchid, and then taken him out of his cage. If you need any pointers on handling, ask Tom, but basically... just be about 10 times slower than you think you need to be...
Have you met leo? His/her sibling. https://www.chameleonforums.com/guess-whos-hatchday-pics-76046/
Leo's a month older than your guy and just started showing color... like today.
:DLeo's!:D Well... at least his MONTHLY one haha. He was hatched on september 13th, so he's officially 5 months old.
I've been worried that he may be a she, me and Tom Kilgour have been going over and over it trying to figure it out... but today... he may have answered the question for us! (If...
Yeah, however there have been times with mine, that if he doesn't see me walk in, I can walk right up behind him and he doesn't even notice until I tap on his cage, even if I make noise
The way I've thought about it is, if I put my hand on something near them and can even slightly feel the vibration of whatever is making the noise (say a subwoofer) then they can "hear" that as well.
And... You know how male Chams respond to other males... If one of your "d-bag" exes comes near you, he'll have to fire up bigger and brighter than the Cham... And I don't think that would be possible.
Just take a male chameleon... He wouldn't even have to buy a suit... They've already got one.
Also, it will be so easy to coordinate if he can just match your color! :)
And OH MAN! The leaf dance... It'd be the next dougie before you knew it!
No. Glass terrarium yes. fish tank no. Difference is that a glass terrarium has built in air vents to cause air to circulate up and out through the enclosure. A fish tank will not allow any ventilation, will breed bacteria/mold, and are not tall enough for a climbing species. So they are...
Looks like I have a sibling from this lil guy, I'm having the same issue! Looks male most of the time, but is a slow developer and looks female when he basks...
Glad to hear about a sibling having a similar issue!
I KNOW! Haha... His little tale turns into a needle that looks sharp enough to stab me :/ :)
Thanks!
That's music to my ears! I've been so paranoid over his health, always thinking he's sick! Thanks
