That depends on the male. Some obviously display colors that are characteristic of a particular island or region. I might be able to look at the CB male and say that at least one of the parents was from Nosy be ancestry... something i could not do with a female because they do not display...
BTW- it's unlike me to jump in with somebody like this, in fact, I actually don't like Chad at all... (sorry Chad). But I agreed with what he was saying and he was exiting the argument so i thought i'd pick it up and run with it.
Since none of you actually know the locales of the females you...
Thank you, I read that. I took it to mean, "Females don't have distinct colors/patterns that make them look different from females of other locales..."
He also makes a second post where he elaborates a bit and asks some questions that you should probably answer if you think he is wrong...
I think what Chad was trying to say, is that there are of course differences from female to female, but that there is more variation within each locale than there is on whole between the different locales. Plus, females can look different from one day to the next.
There is more variation...
Telling us what species of chameleon you plan to put in there might help us decide which cage would be best... so far though i'm going with the first one.
Hi Dibbles,
I agree with your vet on the temps, however, i find it curious that he based the range on your chameleon being "ill". It is well known that most reptiles suffering from a bacterial or viral infection benefit from higher average temps, because their immune systems operate better at...
Well you still hold the title for top poster lol...
Seriously, i'm never hear anymore either, but I glance at things once and a while and I was thrilled to see this post and learn that you're well. Congrats a million on the adoption of the boys. I'm sure you'll make an amazing father!
Glad...
I used to feed my large female F. pardalis the occaisional pinky. Curiously some chams seem to like them and others are not interested at all. This has been my experience with veileds and panthers.
I do it because I'm obsessed with reptiles and i enjoy the opportunity to interact with my chameleons and observe them in person. I enjoy feeding them, watching them mature, and i love seeing newborn babies come out of the eggs.
I do it because i enjoy it, plain and simple.
Lol... oh, that is definately the funniest post I've seen on here in a very long time - if not ever!
I'm giving you some reputation points for that one :D
How long since he ate or defacated?
Offering plenty to drink is the best thing you can do for minor constipation.
He's probably fine.
If he won't eat, it might be because of a number of things, severe constipation is one, but i would explore other possibilities.
Good luck
