What type of Panther do we have?

Yes it is a female and wether or not it's a PURE ambilobe can't really be known but it is definitely overwhelmingly ambilobe. In fact it looks a lot like my Stan when he was younger and he most certainly is a pure ambilobe

The return of Stan and Herbie!!

I know I've been gone for a bit but I thought I should DEFINITELY update on my two boys... Stan has stunted a bit in his growth, slowly being overtaken by Herbie who is at least two months younger but his colors are still extraordinary... Herbie now shows his colors at all times as some may know...

    questions....

ehhhhh possibly? I mean logically, they don't roll around in bed per say ;) So if she is like my guys and chills in one spot why not? I would just make sure your up before she usually is and flick on the lights to trigger the same kind of wake up call she is used to..

    New owner just some Questions

Do you not know how old she is.... Because she is well, a she... At a certain point you will want to cut her food back and put a laying bin in because she almost 100% will lay eggs (some arguments out there on infertile clutches)... But if you over-feed females they will lay more eggs, making it...

Judging from your husbandry (if it's all valid :p ), and judging from the pic you posted, I say IMHO he looks okay for now... Wet substrate?

I have to say it's not the forum rule book... From how I learned and many people think it's the understood norm... Also I'm very interested to find out where this information on river rocks causing bacteria? Another norm that you seem to be wading against... Also you said once they get older...

    Wet substrate?

There shouldn't be a substrate in the enclosure at all... Bare bottom floors or paper towels (at MOST) are the best options... Substrates can lead 1) to impaction if ingested 2) Bacteria from fecals, dead insects, etc... 3) Make it IMPOSSIBLE to clean... My advice, take out the substrate all...
