Hard to tell, butthe middle one is the repti 5.0. I have 3 fixtures but I had no idea how much heat a grow bulb would produce, so because it gives her about 83 or so at the top of the branches, I figure I'm fine... Not sure how I'll cool it down when I add bigger branches.
I will add height...
So I was going to wait to post pics of my homemade cage (I still need to fill it out, get a more permanent feeder cup and get some drainage holes put in and some river rocks on the bottom... oh, and a more attactive pot ) but, I think it shows how well a pothos works for these cages...
I have a small female about the same age (a bit younger actually) and her cage is pretty big. I took a small plastic container that had been used for hummus or some dip from the grocery store and zip tied it to a branch of hers. The container is only an inch or so high so she has no problems...
Ok, so on a Panther bright colors are a sign of stress and are used to intimidate, but on Veileds, it means that they are tolerating being in your presence well (I guess that makes sense, as Panther's colors could look much more intimidating)? When I hold either of my Veileds, they don't puff...
Since I'm obsessed, I will probably add lots of random pics to this thread, so here is one of The King chillin on my Meyer Lemon Tree... which doesn't ever produce lemons :(
Anyway, he looks super turquoise! And, does every chameleon hate cameras lol? He is completely cool even when I take...
So, I eschew fake plants in cham enclosures... Actually, anywhere. I just hate the look, so I've been very quick to fill my two babies cages with live plants.
Now, of course my chams get their 5.0 uvb bulbs, that is a given, but is there any reason that I can not use a plant grow bulb for...
My reason for this question was four fold: I would like to breed them depending on the species, i do like the aesthetics, curiosity is another reason for asking the question, and the GF reacts negatively to more cages... it's not so much the size of the cage, as it is the number... I do get...
So, it will be a bit down the road (as I almost got kicked out for bringing a second Veiled home... needed a female too), but I was curious which species of non dwarf chams can be housed together sometimes? I think it is more fun to get chams in pairs, because of the opportunity to breed, but...
Well too bad you got banned! idk how banning works here, but if you get unbanned, which mazda forum are you on (send me a PM so we don't go too off topic on here)? Probably not the best, MSF, or else you would know that the proper spelling of "meet" is actually "meat". As in, "I go to Mazda...
Heartben, it took me some time to find one too.but after checking lowes and home depot repeatedely I found some. I guess they just run out a lot. Also, google your city's name plus house plants and check which nurseries have house plant sections... Again, it took some time, but I finally found...
Thanks for the responses everyone! It's nice to hear that I should have nothing to worry about.
Regarding the d3, I am going to see if I can get non d3 calcium today locally, and if not I will order it tonight.
And next time I am at that shop I will find out why they told ms to use it...
Nice, solid and thorough admonishment, thanks!
Coil bulb: I have done some research about the safety on here, but thanks for telling me which signs to watch out for!
Basking bulb: Regular 60watt.
feeding: I did just switch to morning (I think I put that in, but maybe forgot) five...
Ok, thanks, I guess I am just paranoid... He looks like a watermelon from above to me and feels heavy.
... I did just happen to stumble upon a supplement thread (and someone mentioned it to me earlier today), but I guess I need the non d3 calcium for daily... I'm surprised the store got that...
Ok, so I tried to bump an old thread, but I didn't get a very complete answer... So I decided to follow the rules ;) and make this thread. I am probably just over concerned, but better safe than sorry.
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled Chameleon, male, 3-4 months. I have had it for...
I've been wondering this same thing, can I overfeed my growing Veiled Chameleons?
One is about 3-4 months and recently has looked quite chubby. He eats voraciously and I feed him however many crickets he will eat... I thought that over feeding was more of a problem for adults.
He is...
I'm trying to convince the GF to let me switch from crickets to Dubai but so far she has said no. I think her main worry is that if enough escaped, they could create a sizable colony. Is this a legitimate fear?
Edit: Nevermind, phone was acting weird. Just refreshed and like five more responses...
I'll check out the video Dave. I appreciate any and all good advice!
And before I can breed them, I also have to convince the GF (though that is the point of having a male and female). If I wasn't going to breed I'd probably have to different kinds of Chameleons instead, right? ;)
But...
