I'd also look at Chamco (Chameleon Company) thats where I got my Nosy Be Jim's an awesome seller, was very helpful throughout the purchase process.
Again with Chamalot heard many great things, check them out too!
Well I'm no perfect pet owner but my Cham seems to be doing fine from what I'm seeing are the correct ways to do things on here, and he is my first pet that wasn't a fish or dog. I wouldn't say owning a Cham as your first reptile is impossible just follow the guides that the people who have been...
My greaseball baby is leaning toward the yellow side right now too, but we'll see what happens as he gets older. Mine does have the red around the eyes though!
Ok so everyone knows hurricane irene came through and destroyed the east coast, I've been without power since early Sunday morning and this is day three for my little guy without power, I've done what I can I am feeding him, I have been feeding him his 15ish dusted crickets, and he's in front of...
Up here in CT the storms passed, been without power since around 6:50am so were passed the 12 hour mark, trees down everywhere, our little streams are huge rivers, no power in sight for at least 1 or 2 more days considering the power lines down around my area, luckily my chameleon hanging in...
I want to order crickets online, but their sizes are in fractions like 1/2 or 1/4 and I'm not sure what to get? The crickets labeled small at petco seem to be the perfect size for my guy right now, does anybody know what size that equals on one of our site sponsors? I just don't want to order...
Alright so my powers been out since 6am and my chameleons lights usually go on at 9am I went upstairs to mist his cage and he's still asleep, my rooms dark and the storm isn't helping light come into my room, is it ok if he sleeps all day? The storm hasn't even really hit us yet and I don't...
I wasn't a fan of the screen zipper cages, don't seem like they'd be sturdy enough, my screen terrarium seems plenty strong enough to hold my uvb light, basking light, and big dripper on top of it, another place for terrariums is diy cages, pretty sure they are a site sponsor here, was thinking...
You should also look at the terrariums on LLLreptile, I am using a 18x18x36 and it is really a nice cage, as for chameleons, can't go wrong with Jim at Chameleon Company, I have a Nosy Be sired by Greaseball from him and I will definitely go back!
Yeah my local petco it was like $4.99 for 36, when really you only get like 20-25... After these run out this weekend I'm definitely ordering in bulk online, better deal and you get more, although they're hoping you run out and they are your only option so you'll buy them no matter the price.
My guys basking temp went from 83F to 69F just from our A/C being on... I had to turn up his bulb all the way to get it back to where it should be, feel like its going to be a battle with this A/C during this storm. Anyone else's A/C give them troubles?
My little nosy be was doing this same thing, he'd look at the crickets in the cup but he wouldn't go for them and that was making me worried. I decided to place the crickets on the screen on his cage so they could climb around near him and he went right for them, guess maybe he was used to...
Hahahaha, yeah he seems to like the shallower/wider cups, I saw him shoot at a cricket in the deep red party cup but I think he missed. Guess we'll have to see what works, only 2 days new plenty of time to get to know him :).
edit: spelling correction
Yeah he wants nothing to do with it, and will avoid it lol. I had to crab a cricket and have it climb on the screen so he would take it, he's still pretty shy with me, he seems to like mistings though!
