    No...leave him, he should be fine. The cool thing about chameleons is they regulate their temperatures fairly well. He shouldn't get burnt. Can you do me a favor. Take a picture of your set up so I can take a look at it. I can probably give you some pointers on your setup.

    I would say fruit flies are cheaper. Pin head crickets unless you bread them yourself, can get pretty expensive.

    I'm not certain about this, but I think I read an article recently about Hawaii and it's laws against importing chameleons to Hawaii. Before you do anything, I would Google some state laws concerning the import and export if chameleons to the island.
