Well :D But that´s exactly the problem i was referring to you see?
Unfortunately MBD can not be reversed, but it can be stopped.
If you want to try it, i may tell you how we in Germany handle lighting and supplementation, maybe it´ll help him but ir will not be cheap.
This does sound very very bad...
Why can´t you take him to a vet?
What supplements and lighting do you use?
I think you american guys do not have the right idea when it comes to both of these things. This is my conclusion considering the appearingly huge number of sick chams in the US. In my...
No prob ;)
I´d wish more people would read a lot like you do.
Mostly beginners start "new" threads and ask 1000 questions even if exactly the same thing has been discussed 1000 times before and is actually in the next thread below the one they wrote. So thanks for reading :)
I would absolutely not recommend feeding them that often (by which i mean superworms).
Chameleons often have problems with digesting them because they have a pretty hard and smooth "skin" so their gut can´t move it very well, also they are harder to digest due to those factors. It´s better to...
The caresheet will work to get some general information, but you´ll need to modify most of the practical tips for european climate and the fact that you should use a substrate
Blaptica dubia can definitely not climb plain surfaces.
Btw: i was able to hide a adult rat for several weeks :D
But as she agreed to have roaches you won´t need to hide them anyway
I simply have them in the open where all the other feeders are too.
My mom would never think that i´d simply place them where everyone can see them easily as we already argued alot about them when she found the ones i was hiding in the cupboard :D Well, guess she has to look into the obviously...
Almost forgot: good supplements available in Germany (so i guess they also are in Greece) are Korvimin ZVT+Reptil for vitamins and Herpetal Mineral for minerals.
You should then mix those two 1:1 and dust about every second-third feeder with this.
You need to always only mix a small amount...
Guess that was me ;)
I know nobody around here in Germany who keeps chams without substrate and there are no problems at all. You simply need to make sure it doesn´t get too wet and can try out at least once a day.
Hello,
i really feel sorry for the poor chameleon...
I´m from Germany, so not that far away from where you are.
Search the internet for greek onlinestores who sell live-feeders, guess you should be able to find something.
First off: how old, big and what sex is the cham?
How big is the cage you...
My Mom hates them either so i simply use a box she can not see right through.
She would never open one of my feeder-boxes/bins because those things give her the creep :D
Or how about under the bed?
It helps the roaches if it´s warm, then they´ll grow and breed better
Just wanted to make sure ;)
Repti Glo 5.0 should be fine, at least if he is free-ranged outside in the sun from time to time.
All UV-bulbs for reptiles have huge differences in there UV-Output in Quality and Quantity so you need to make sure to either use a Osram Vitalux or let him bask in the...
By energy savin bulbs i mean those: http://terrarienworld.de/images/reptiglo%20compact%205.0.jpg
Those bulbs to cause eyeproblems when used for chameleons.
The tubes are okay.
Considering David´s comment, i would visit a vet as soon as possible to get further instruction.
Unfortunately, the damages he already took can not be reversed but you can stop the further progress of the illness.
