Thank you Olimpia! Yeah I was just curious what the X-ray range was. Its up there but I will pay it if I ever need to. They are really great and the one minute drive is a bonus!
Not a stupid Q at all. I told them I was just wanting to bring him in for a wellness and at 60 that is totally reasonable but then I asked on a "what if" basis I wanted to have an X-ray to check his bone density, she said 160-165. I don't think she liked my reaction  She (receptionist)...
That poll was quite interesting ;) Thank you for linking those! I guess Ill just have to see if travel would be worth it. Like I said my local vet is great with exotics and birds and takes me a minute to get there vs a 1hour to 3 for the other Ohio vets. It just seemed a bit pricy for the X-ray...
Ugh I'm going through the same exact thing with my guy (7 months old)! I also thought that all the above mentioned were the issue. I think the weather, and sexual maturity is a big factor. I will also be feeding every other day since in the recent past this seems to help! Good luck with your...
So I stopped in to my closest vet (1 mile from me) who sees chams and wanted to get a feel for what its going to cost me when I take Kai in for a wellness check. They quoted me $60 for the visit, so then just to prepare myself for possible future issues…an x-ray will run about $165 and their...
I completely agree with you on this! Had this happened when the "youtube" lady with the bitting cham bought hers…that poor cham probably would have been sparred a lifetime of stress/misery. You know the person who thought the cham was "playing"! Sad, sad and total Craziness!!!!
Exactly my thoughts too! They don't like change so that first off is a big contributor to his "nastiness". He really does need about a good 2-4 weeks to acclimate and become comfy. And like others have said be slow in movements and I also limit eye to eye contact during that time and with...
I know and thats exactly why I avoid the AC ;) I was still able to control proper RH since his cage is set up for handling our dry/cold winters. LOL its just funny how the Cham controls the place :D Hubby says its too hot and sticky so turn on the AC and I say "nope, Kai needs the natural heat...
So being somewhat new to keeping chams, new higher temps in the area equals brain burps for me
I am very anti AC and that being said, I figured all the better for my lil' Kai. Temps in the house were good and I adjusted the basking bulb accordingly, RH was the best its been with little...
I agree it looks like the common house spider AKA Yellow Sac Spider. I HATE those nasty things!!! FYI…they are venomous and aggressive. I had an infestation once and when I tried to eliminate them they actually ATTACKED me:eek: Be careful ;)
