    sick veiled chameleon

Read as much as you can here. The Care Sheets, all the basics.. especially the Poop thread. (sounds funny, but it's a bulls-eye easy way to detect issues.) Ask questions for sure, but also do your research... you know all the details.. pop them into the search box and get to school. I've...

    Quick Poll for Curiosity

Had 2 Jackson's years ago.. before there even was an internet! Found this site the day I knew we were getting our Veiled, lurked and read for 2 days, then posted when I felt like George was in real trouble and we needed advice badly! So happy I did!

Not sure of all that @dshuld, one plant turned out to be a Purple Waffle.. apparently not much of an aquatic plant at all, tho it did well for a few months. I have it in a large vase now trying to keep it from completely melting. There is new growth but honestly it looked better when it was...

@jannb - thanks for the kind words.. I feel pretty lucky to have rescued him.. and hopeful we can get him healthy. Appreciate the Vet info.. I'll be in St Pete tomorrow. Might pop by. New enclosure is in the works. Trying to figure best way to screen in a wire-rack shelving unit...

Everyone here has been so amazingly helpful.. and not at all condescending! This is an awesome forum that I'm thrilled to be part of. I asked for advice on an aquarium forum for some plants... explained that I had inherited the tanks, had no clue what I was doing and would really appreciate...

Would really appreciate some help with our "Boy George"

I moved him, he was a little hissy, but gave me a chance to look in his mouth.. didn't notice excess mucous or bubbles and color was on the pinkish side as opposed to fleshy side as I stated yesterday - maybe we can ease our worries about URI. He seems able to move around better on the vines...

I know that personification of our pets is wrong... it's also impossible to not do... Our balcony looks out over a small pond and some dense FL woods... I can't help but imagine he's staring out there with great envy...

Would really appreciate some help with our "Boy George"

Wow.. another 6 smallish crickets and he's fired up nice and green. A few got out of the easy feed bowl... will be interesting to see if he starts climbing around to hunt them down. Won't leave them overnight if not eaten. Thrilled about the progress so far today. Will be taking a bunch...

Would really appreciate some help with our "Boy George"

Pulled the water dish and green carpet, put 3 smallish dusted crickets in a feeding bowl... hung in the lower part of the vine.... They were gone before I could put the paper towels down. He was in the bowl face first! We might still have a long journey ahead... but counting the small...

Lot's of learning... Reading back on some other threads, BG is now standing, but on the bottom of his enclosure. I'm encouraged that he's standing, seeming stronger than he's been. But also read that being on the enclosure bottom is bad. He's not trying to climb the fake vine at all...

Not smashed or touched by me, but he's been more active today.. he may have stepped on it.?.. Sort of expected a little poorly digested... with all his stress and being "force-fed" 5 mealworms and 5 med/sm crickets over the past 2 days. Going to work on optimizing everything as suggested...

I need to extend a huge THANK YOU! to everyone that's helped out... not only with posts here, but also all of the other posts, resources and advice all over this forum. The info is helping my learning curve for sure. We'll be straightening out his enclosure, lighting, diet and water over the...

Yikes 2x! Being hopeful, I was simply happy he finally pooped. What are you seeing @Syreptyon that gives you that thought? From the other poop pix in the Poop101 thread, it seemed to me that he may have been bound up as @Jevin said earlier. If you're seeing blood.. then I would guess parasites...
