yeah i was thinking of installing a small computer fan.. the basking spot is only at 79-82. i have 2 live plants that are planted in a tray with dirt and rocks.. im shure the humidity wouldnt hurt much at 85% but i just want my setup to be perfect.
hi. ive been trying to find this question and cant find a good answer.
- i use a half glass and half mesh cage. my humidity seems a bit high. (85%) how do you people lower humidity levels?
you can get a cheap aquarium or anytype of glass tank from craigslist and do what i did.. i flipped it upright and pulled the glass from the top and added a mesh sliding door in the front.. or you can just buy a roll of mesh from homedepot for 8$ and it will be enough to build 1 big cage or...
getting my veiled on tuesday!!! :D:p i named him YODA! cant wait
UPDATE: i have ran my setup for the last 3 days to make shure its perfect for my cham.. the drain system is wonderful! works so well! how to coming soon!
thanks. haha i might build him a bigger cage once he gets bigger but ive seen some peoples addictions.lol im not shure if im ready to design my house around chameleons..lol i may just make him a little free range area but i shure aint going crazy..lol
BTW ordered him...
this was originally a 55 gallon critter tank that i kept my snake in.. i have pulled the glass from the top and added mesh. made the tank stand upright. the tank already had a mesh top but since it now stands upright, it became a sliding door. i cut a small hole in the glass bottom so the drain...
its not a utility sink.. just a square trash bin that i cut to size and i just put a hole in the middle to fit a drain system from a sink. i will cut the legs to lower the tray as the cham grows. the only thing i really had problems with is the design and i had to cut a hole in the glass.
i tryed to make it the most constructive but least ghetto way possible.. the only thing that "looks ghetto" is the tape that hold the water deflectors and the screws are visible on the stand. but overall i think its pretty creative and i think this would be perfect for my new cham.:D
hi. just got my tank done. please let me know what you think and what i should change.

-planted ficus bonsai and schefflera

-hand misted
the basking spot is at 78-80 deg with...
so i have planted the plants. i used a tray, put mesh on the bottom. then a layer of rocks then the plants with soil, then i put rocks on top.. i have tryed to flood the plants to see if my setup works and it seems to work like a champ.. but time will tell. pics here-...
also the chameleon nose is like 100times more sensative than a human nose. i want to spray paint some stuff but im worried that this may be bad for the cham.
