    preparing for new cham!

Don't be scared! I have to admit, I was nervous at first. I just wanted to make sure that I was doing everything possible to take proper care of my cham. They're so teeny tiny when they're babies. It can be a bit intimidating to care for such a fragile little creature. Don't worry. You will get...

I am a new owner of a male baby Veiled cham. :) The best advice I can give is to make sure to do your homework on the care of this animal. You are definitely in the right spot to learn. This forum has been a tremendous help to me. First off, make sure that you have all of the essentials...

    Who is in Sandy's path?

Be careful. I've been through Katrina. I know how devastating and scary these storms can be. If you have somewhere that you can go that is out of harm's way, go! If not, stock up on non perishable food items, water, medications, pet food, batteries, flashlights, candles and generators, etc. if...

Spring water? ReptiSafe treated tap water?

I know that "spring" water contains minerals. I was just wondering if the minerals that are in the spring water would have any sort of ill effect on my cham. ;) The ReptiSafe directions say that it works immediately.

Spring water? ReptiSafe treated tap water?

So, if I let the tap water sit out for 24 hrs. and use the ReptiSafe, all chlorine and chloramines should disappear? I just want to make sure that ReptiSafe is okay for the cham to ingest.

Ha! I could go on and on. I luuurrve all music (except for Dubstep), but I have a tenancy to lean more towards underground Hip Hop and Punk. Spring water? ReptiSafe treated tap water?

I don't have an automated mister yet. I have a baby Veiled and the enclosure is kind of small for an automated mister. I'll definitely be investing in one when I upgrade to a larger enclosure. I've been using spring water and purified drinking water in jugs. It does get pricey. I was just...

Spring water? ReptiSafe treated tap water?

Is it okay to use spring water to mist my cham's habitat? What do you guys think about using ReptiSafe to be able to use tap water for misting? We have hard water here in the New Orleans area.

Still having a few issues with Penelope :/

I know that she'll be just fine. It's awesome that you're going to spread your knowledge about chameleon care. Hopefully, they will utilize the knowledge. I've just had experiences with shop owners not wanting to take advice, telling me that they know what they're doing. They are stubborn and...

Your cham should be on the road to recovery now that you've gone to the vet and have her supplements, UVB, hydrometer and thermometer coming in the mail soon. Remember to gutload those crickets! Tesla is shedding!

My baby Veiled is having it's first shed while in my care! I was starting to get upset because he started to look pale and wasn't eating as much. I've been misting more than usual because I thought that he may be dehydrated. I looked at his poo and his urate was very white, so that means that he...

    Sulcata owners?

Here are some pics of my little Sully. :) It's kept in a humid enclosure to prevent pyramiding. It's housed in a LARGE Rubbermaid tote with cypress mulch as substrate. I have the lid cut in half and it's on top of the humid hide. I also have a 100 watt MVB that is on an adjustable stand that is...
