like i said, i didnt know if it did matter, but i have read that you need to wash your hands b4 & after handling your chameleons, so i thought maybe having an open wound might be susceptible to an infection from the baby
that is 1 fancy system you have there!:D I didnt notice what you did for the bottoms of the cages, did u drill a hole in the corner to allow it to go into the trough, or just slant the bottoms?
With there still being 10 days b4 i receive my baby panthers, i had accidentally ordered my feeders a bit early, finding out after Feeder Factory e-mailed me on wednesday saying they had been shipped!(1000 crickets & 250 supers) Although i was unprepared for them this early, i scrambled to get...
Damm, i guess i shoulda asked b4 i bought! I thought for sure that when the superworm breeding text called for dixie cups, that they meant plastic! I figured they could chew their way through paper, so i bought plastic, even though the lids were meant for paper. My supers will be here...
I have heard a lot of you say that butterworms are very fatty, but someone had posted a nutrient comparison a couple weeks ago, & it showed butterworms as having a very low fat %, lower than crickets even...was i reading that wrong?
Thanks everyone for your input, & yes, i wouldnt get my full $ back on selling the hoods(i got them from the US, & although i am pretty sure Pangea would take them back, i more than likely would need to pay for shipping), so i will probably hold on for now, & maybe an opportunity will arise to...
ok, i decided to try to sell the hoods locally, but 1 important question, being that the hoods can only use the compact fluorescent tube & are not good for chameleons, what reptiles(or other animal) are they safe for? I need to know so i dont hurt the buyers pet!;)
ok, when everyone was telling ppl not to use coil bulbs, i am pretty sure you were talking about the spiral ones(at least that was my impression), the 1 i am talking about is a fluorescent too, it has 1 bend in it, so you are saying the 2 hoods i bought are useless, cause it takes a compact...
I just got my order from Pangea today, & a couple things were messed up. I guess its my mistake, but certainly an easy newbie one. I ordered 2 18" hoods & 2 5.0 Reptisun fluorescent bulbs. The problem is, the hood is for a compact bulb, & i got the straight one. I went on the website to see...
i am planning on breeding crickets too, this was an excellent link, but because there were mo pics( & i am a visual person) i got lost in a coupls of aspects.
If anyone knows where some pics of the setup is, or have pics of there own, sharing would be greatly appreciated:D
When i put the egg...
i used to love watching Steve Irwin even when he showed amimals i wasnt interested in- now that i have the Chameleon passion in me, he was even better! Thanks:D
i dont know enough to keep critiquing, but since the experts are still sleeping, did you cross-reference the plants to find out if they are safe for Chams?
