I have a female C.H. melleri that just layed her first clutch of infertile eggs a couple months ago...Her cagemate is about the same age as she is, but a little larger with a dark Army green daytime color. My question was, what behavioral displays would be typical if her cagemate was a male...

I dont know if you read my other post.... The eggs all went bad after about a week or two. It was her first clutch ever...I dont even think her cage mate is of the opposite sex...or even sexually mature yet...I didnt think she was either...

I have pics of both animals in the advanced topic forum, but I can only post here for now... The one that I thought to be male kept getting all kinds of little scratches on its back...I had two basking spots set up in the cage, but the female kept crawling all over the other one. I am not sure...

If both melleri were female and the same age, would they BOTH have produced infertile clutches already? Do the females always produce an infertile clutch of eggs or even start developing eggs and then reabsorb them?
