Sorry I didn't answer you question. Yes you cut the branches so the fit snugly, then push tacks from the outside through the screen into the end of the branch. Same thing with fishing line but I think you would need to drill small holes through the end of the branch to be sure it was secure...
I use tacks but I have a screen enclosure. If you are using a soft mesh enclosure I would think you would need to secure it with fishing line or florist twine.
You said one was braided. That might be a money tree. Those are toxic I bevieve. The foliage is similar to a schefflera. I hear you on the impaction issue but most reptiles do not shoot out a sticky tongue. The gravel would be bad. Use river stones or try the screen a cross the top of the pot...
Some veiled get some stripes but only with age. Look up Jannb she has photos of all her veiled. I think the thread is called my beautiful veileds. That should give you an idea of the color variety of veileds.
What type of chameleon are you looking for? Have you ever had a chameleon before? Chameleons have care requirements that can be very time consuming and costly. I would suggest doing some reading of the care sheets on this forum. It might help you decide which type you are looking for or if you...

I would like to say if your Cham died in two weeks time I'd think the breeder would cough up some of your money considering he thought it was genetics. Bad genes I would think fall to the breeder.
Any of the site sponsors would be the best place to look. You would at least feel confident you were getting a healthy animal. I find some of the venders (not all) at reptile shows to be as ill informed as Petco. If you buy one from a reptile show I would try to look up the venders and do a...
Skip the mealworms. You can order silkworms and hornworms in small sizes. Hornworms will grow so fast that you will be throwing half of them out so I would wait on those. Silks will last a lot longer. While he's so small I'd try "Linda's gone buggy". They offer samplers in small quantities. It...
Has he had any outside time? what kind of enclosure is he in? I've never heard of this but I did read that after a long winter indoors that colors can look drab and washed out. Just an idea.
Do you know if it's a male or female? The amount you feed depends on age. You either have a female or a pretty young Cham. The leg is in front of the tail section. I'm not qualified to sex a panther but other members will be able to if you post a few pictures of the base of the tail.
My Cham tracks birds outside. Every time one flies over he twists around the branch. My dog is completely unaware we even have a chameleon. Never even sniffed the enclosure. My guy will do that same twisting when he passes by. He is in his own room and I always make sure the door is closed when...
If I leave him alone outside he's in a large reptibreeze. I only do the free range when I'm sitting outside with him. He's still young so he does like to wander. I do have my daughters plastic kiddie pool under the tree so he can get down and walk around a bit. I'm going to build a large outdoor...
I'm sure no one is shocked but I received a message that the leopard gecko died. I guess he was too busy (or his sister said no ) to take him to the rescue place I found.
If you go to the top of this forum in The right hand corner you will find "our site sponsors" you will find places to sell feeders on there. If you want to try a couple different feeders try "Linda's gone buggy" ( just google it ) they sell sampler packs of multiple different feeders. Some worms...
Jannb that is heartbreaking. Yes, it's much better than falling or loosing nails. I've already purchased the plastic grid stuff, I headed to Home Depot right after you posted. I wish I could free range but I have a dog and a six year old. On your recommendation I have set up a small free range...
Panthers do not normally eat greens, veiled chameleons eat fruits and veggies.
The most common supplement schedule
Calcium with no d3 daily
Calcium with d3 2 times per month
Multivitamin 2 times per month
Each of these should be given alone on that day. Do not combine them.
