Thanks for the inputs. Her recent colour changes have confirmed that she is a female. I am still trying to learn where I went wrong in the beginning.
This was an earlier photo of her when I got her not too long. How can we tell from the photo that its a she?
I also started with an exo terra tank though I have switched to reptibreeze for all my chameleons. I understand your suction cup problem. It helped when I wipe the glass area and the suction cups with alcohol wipes before positioning it. It will still fall off but not as often.
Looks female to me but I can't be certain. My panthers were wrongly sexed by their sellers. You could compare its vent area to pictures of my Huey and Hula.
Every night, I will dust the crickets with exo terra's calcium powder, put them in a feeding cup and add a few pieces of vegetable leaves and carrots for gut loading.
When my veiled was a baby, for their meals on Monday and Friday, I would dust the crickets with calcium + D3 and vitamin...
I have made an appt with the vet, his next available slot is next Monday. Hope this isn't too serious and Karma will be able to wait till then. I have tried soaking his butt in warm water today. I am not sure if that piece is supposed to come out or retracted back in.
Thanks for the input everyone. The sperm plugs fell off this morning. I am relieved now. I panicked a little yesterday because when I tried to pull it a little, it looked like its internal organ was coming out together with it so I let it go.
Merry Christmas!
Please have crickets on standby just in case. My chams wouldn't take Dubias as staple. It will great if yours does. It is so much easier to maintain dubias than crickets. All the best in your preparation!
This is Huey, bought him as a male from a shop in March. In my earlier post, my female panther chameleon turned out to be a male. I bought Huey 2 months earlier than Hula but he was eating poorly for a period of time and now Hula has outgrown him.
Can the seniors please help to verify Huey's...
Oh no. Its not bad news because she (now a he) is gorgeous. Just a little surprise because all this months I thought it was a she, I remembered there was no bulge when I bought it as a baby from a breeder. I got suspicious when I was misting him this morning and his colours isn't dull or peachy...
I have a colony of dubias which my veil and panther chams refuse to eat as staple. They are too used to crickets. My veil will occasionally take a dubias only I feed with my hand or a tweezer. It seems like it will only strike if it has a clear view of dubia's "face".
Thankfully my bearded...
