I took a solo cup and poked a sewing needle hole through the bottom...messed around with a few cups making the hole slightly bigger/smaller until I was happy with it and it's been working great!
Similarly, I use a solo cup with a sewing pin hole through the bottom, works wonderfully! Seemed silly to purchase the "lil dripper" for this.
For plants, pothos are working out very well for me. Not so successful with a bromiliad nor with the cool airplants I bought. Many people recommend...
I've heard others on here use the term "pajamas" for the different colors chams turn when they sleep. My Herbie definitely looks different when he sleeps compared to when awake! I don't think that's anything to worry about, he does look good and perky in the picture of him awake!
Only the Pygmy Chams should be kept in groups, from what I can tell, yours should definitely not be kept together. I found another thread searching the forum that sounds like it might be helpful to you: https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/chamaeleo-hoehnelii-info-please.3339/
She looks good, what is her set up like? You can always post pictures of your enclosure and more information and some of the more experienced keepers could help you out!
My Cham LOVES Superworms and they seem like they last forever. I just keep them in a drawer, I don't think they are ones that are recommended to be kept in the fridge.
I used this sturdy green wire I have for wreath making and it worked very well. I did as you said and have two holes in the pot, through the wire cage and twisted together BUT I was also concerned it wouldn't be a good enough way to hold it up there so I took a bendable vine, looped it around...
I have had luck finding organic pothos plants on Amazon. I still wash them out and I put river rocks at the base to prevent my Cham from eating dirt. They grow a lot and can be separated easily. They seem to do very well in Herbies terrarium. I've tried air plants (not enough shade it seems) and...
Nice idea for a thread. It's interesting to hear what else all you fellow Cham lovers are up to in your free time! As for me, I am the Women's Volleyball coach at a D2 Juco. My team just made it to Nationals for the 1st time in our schools history so I'm ready to retire now, at the ripe age of...
Herbert enjoying a misting and his upgraded UVB bulb. The box on this Reptisun bulb says that it will provide 5.0 UVB for an entire year but I know it's recommended by everyone to replace these every 6 months. Hmmm, would would be nice to save a lil money there but his health is number 1 priority...
As a newbie...I just want to say...I hope not to be another typical first time Cham owner and a HUGE part of why I don't THINK I will be is this forum. Good, bad, sometimes maybeee a bit rude (mostly when important questions go unanswered and more so frustration than anything in my opinion), it...
From what I know, eating the substrate can cause impacting and is bad! I have a male and am new to this but it looks like a lot of female owners use towels? Good luck, hope she is OK!
From what I've read here and on flchams.com, you will rarely see a Veiled Cham drink water. We were hand misting for the past 6 months but upgraded to a humidifier this winter! He seems to swallow the water that runs down from his casque when we mist. I know everyone will doubt this and maybe I...
