Geez! How much is too much? (food)

Attitudes are still improving (only slightly with Prometheus) but their appetites are getting rediculous! I got my hands on some dubia that are small enough (thanks allthingsreptile) and put 6 in each of their bowls. Got home from work and nothing was missing! Left them there hoping they...

    Injury on his nose

Any grocery store has the ointment, even mini-marts or dollar stores. If you mean the providone/iodine stuff, yeah, you gotta get it in the pharmacy section or that kind of store. If just a little boo-boo, the ointment should be fine to keep the ickies out while it heals up.

    Injury on his nose

Polysporin, Neosporin or any antibiotic ointment without the pain reliever. Whether dried bug juice or blood, slather a bit on with a q-tip real quick and let it set for a bit before you wipe it off. Then you can take a real close look at what you are wiping off to see what it is. Both of...

    Vets visit...need some guidance

Like Carol said, the Baytril flavor will not go over well! I'm afraid that if you just drip the med on the feeders, he won't eat them and the med will be wasted. If you can inject the feeders with the med, it goes over much better. And then you know for sure how much of the dose goes in...

    What have I done!

Get deep totes and long tweezers. :) Put a bit of heat on the tote and they'll probably be happy to stay right there with their food and water.

The most important thing is to keep her hydrated. They can do fine for a couple of weeks without food if they so choose but don't do well without water intake. Make sure you give her all the water she will drink. And offer food too, just don't worry if she doesn't eat much. If she isn't...

Comment by 'HolyToledo' in 'Rep points'

Plus, if you got all the rep points I have tried to give (and I'm sure there are more than just me trying), your whole background would be little green squares! Your info is awesome and I refer people to your stuff all the time. I just can't say how much better Twister's life was after I found...

    chameleon question

If you read up on sandrachameleon's blogs, you can get alot of great info on what you should feed your cham and their feeders. It really made a difference in the health of my cham. Once Twister was getting better nutrition from his foods/feeders, he had alot less trouble pooing and he was...

    chameleon question

If she won't poop after a week or so, try seeing if you can get her to eat some small pieces of grapes or slivers of pear. If she won't eat it, put her next roaches in a cup with just the grapes or pears for a few hours before you feed them to her and see if that helps. I keep a jar of pear...

    Possible Burn?

I'm not familiar with burns but, I remember freaking out when Twister started getting black spots on his casque too. I was told it is a sign of growing up. When in doubt, put a bit of antibiotic ointment on it and watch it closely. If it stays all the time and/or gets worse, vet trip time...

Sorry but I have to agree that you need to take your little girl in to the vet. Not only does it look like there is abnormal swelling all along the spine, she has something going on with her lip too. I hope things come out well for the two of you.

Comment by 'HolyToledo' in 'Rep points'

One of the problems with rep points is that you can only give so much to one person in any given time. There have been times that I found your info very informative and helpful but it has been too soon since the last rep + so by the time i "spread" rep pts. elsewhere, I have been too distracted...

    Sunshine!

Poppi loves being in the window! (Open, 2nd story window with secure screen.) It took a few times of being there but she is finally relaxing and starting to just hang out. Once in awhile a delivery truck or something will go by and stress her out a bit but she just goes and hides behind the...

    The Tortoise and the Wallaby

Quigley, the wallaby is adorable! And, since bluewuta (Blaine) didn't answer about it being housebroken, I'm pretty sure it is housebroken and uses a doggie door. So do his Patagonian Cavies... And Blaine, you are pretty cool... :) But your collection of animals is really cool!

    Meller's?

I hope this works! I'm not to tech-savvy. :) Here is a pic and there is a thread on here by allthingsreptile regarding their Meller's and they have quite a few of them as you can see in the pic...

    Mouth Rot?

How long has it looked like that? If it is a recent development, it could be a bit or food stuck on the lip. I can't find the thread but something similar ended up being part of a feeder that had dried onto the lip. Take a q-tip with a bit of antibiotic ointment and see if it will come off...

Glad to see that I'm not the only one getting attitude from the little ones! LOL At least Ivy seems to have a reason to attack! Bugs on your nails AND a blk/wht tie-dye? You do like to live dangerously! :)
