    New Cage

I was surprised as well, i was told on here several times that my cage was far too big for a young Chameleon and that i would need a new one. This seemed like a much more simple and a cheaper solution. Anyways though, i finally setup the rest of my cage today and i will post step by step...

    New Cage

No problem, it is actually really simple, i got the kit from home depot in the door and window section for 13 dollars. and then the roll of screen was 7 dollars. So in all that is twenty bucks vs. having to spend another 100 bucks on a new cage when the cham outgrows a little cage.

    New Cage

Ok, so i am finally to the point of completing my cage. Here is what i have so far: I have a 260 gallon flexarium. However, since the cage will be for a baby Veiled,i have cut the cage size in half by building my own window screen. It is a custom window screen set i got from Home Depot. I built...

    Flexariums?38-60 gallon.

How old is she? If she's over six months or so i would go with one even bigger. lllreptile.com has sizes all the way up to 260 gallon. The bigger the cage the better- for a full grown chameleon.

    How old for a male?

Well technically, at 5 months old your Veiled should be reaching his sexual maturity age. Veileds become sexually mature between the ages of 4-6 months. http://www.a1reptiles.net/VeiledChameleonCare.html

    Terrarium Hood

I am getting the Repti Glo Bulbs from Exo Terra, The 5.0 is a UVB/UVA Bulb, WHile the 2.0 Bulb is a full spectrum bulb. It said that they work best when they are used together due to the wide spectrum of light.

My 260 gallon reptarium just arrived and i am working on having the perfect setup before my chams arrive in about a month. So, does anyone on here that has used a reptarium before have any good ideas on how to hang potted plants from the ceiling of the cage? Also any other reptrium setup ideas...

    Question

If a male and a female Veiled Chameleon are housed together, will they mate for sure? Or does it take a lot of work to actually get them to mate? I am asking this because i have a cage that is definately big enough to house two chameleons happily, but i don't want them to breed 3 or 4 times a year.

    Reptarium Bottom Ideas

i saw on one website that a guy used a floor matt, on top of that he put a black weed tarp and then put Eco Earth substrate on top of that. After that he put another layer of the weed tarp over it. The eco earth supposedly absorbs a lot of the excess water and lets it evaporate quickly which...
