LOL on the lunge move
LOL, that lunge move scares me every time. My hand I ricochets of the branches and vines trying to get my hand out of the way, dropped the worm and everything!
All of this sounds very familiar to me as i have had my Male Veiled since April and he is probably close to 7 months ole. He usually freezes in place or runs and hides. Sometimes he will stay in one place and try to roll around the bramch he is on to hide. He will however eat a worm off of the...
Looks like Alina gets out a lot! I love pic 3 she looks like one of thos blowfish. I dont know if i am more amazed by their ability to change shape or change color.
Do any of you feed your cham while they are on the free range? I wanted mine to feel safe and relate to me the same way out of the enclosure as in so i have been doing it. Any pro or con?
Just wondering if i am doing this right. thanks
Enclosure outside
I winder if you carry the whole enclosure outside and does he stress out when you move him like that. I am thinking about doing the same if so. Thanks he looks awesome.
Here is my best picture yet of "El Senor Cacahuete". I got out of his cage today so I moved him to a free range that I had set up. It was awesome fun getting a little more trust too.
Boldly left his enclosure
Today Cacahuete braveley left his enclosure by way of the open door right in front of me. He was strutting his stuff on top of the vivarium and then tried to scramble onto a framed photo on the wall. I had to scoop him up quick to avoid a fall. Now he is on a potted...
That makes sense to me. Only issue is getting them back into the enclosure. I wouldnt say that I cant handle my Chams I just dont want to take a step back on trust that I have built
Since I dont handle my cham yet I take the entire enclosure out. I dont want to ruin the trust I have built by hand feeding by grabbing him even if it is to move him to a portable free range.
Teh last time I took him out he scrambled around his habitat while I carried him out and then once...
Good luck, and don't regret the rescue. I have a veiled jeuvenile and he is not fond of me, I am working on it though by hand feeding and neing present near him without trying to handle him. I tried to pick him up the other day and he was clearly stressed. I'll wait a another few months before I...
I got a really nicer one at Home Depot! It runs on USB, AC Power and Battery. I think it was $12.00 I is abount6" diameter and is blue in color. I put it next to the enclosure and point it laterally to the front of the enclosure to create some airflow.
That is shocking. I have hawks all over here in RI, but I would not have considered a crow as a threat. I plan to keep them on a potted plant on my deck up against the house so there shouldn be good cover plus I'll stay right there.
