Hey all,
I have to bring her in next Monday for a re-check, but I figured I would see if anyone has had this problem.
My cham is either really weird of very stupid lol. She keeps on grabbing her front legs with her back ones and falling all over the place.
I called the vet yesterday and...
18" high I don't think is sufficient enough, but that is just me. Chameleons like height more than anything. They like to climb to the highest point and be far away from the ground so they can feel safe.
My setup is a 260 gallon flexarium, it is 6 feet high by 3 feet wide and deep. Now you...
Hello all,
I had to do the hardest thing a pet owner despises doing, saying goodbye. On Christmas day, my Chameleon Prolapsed his Colon for a 2nd time. He did this before 6 months ago and was not supposed to make it through the surgery, but I nursed him back to health.
Today I brought him...
Hey Julirs,
I hope everything is ok with your cham and that it was just a bad worm. As far as getting Chameleons to open their mouths, all you have to do is take your index finger, and apply a bit of pressure on the top or the mouth at the end and stroke backwards towards his/her eyes.
I...
OK,
I brought her back into the vet yesterday for a checkup, and it seems like her breathing is much better, the anti-biotics are working great. She gained 2 grams of weight which is good since she is very tiny for her age. The force feeding through a syringe sucks and she attacks it, but it...
Hey,
As far as Veild Chams go, I have no experience with them, however I would wait to hear from Brad Ramsey or Dave Weldon on this one. This Link will be very helpful for you:

This is a great website about raising not just Veild's...
I had this happen with my Cham, get it to a vet asap, mine unfortunatley was his colon and he had to have it surgically removed.
Good luck through you ordeal and I pray that it makes it thru, the vet will most likely tell you to keep the moisture up, maybe add a second heat light as they...
Hey all,
I posted not too long ago about sleeping during the day, well I finally got worried enough to bring her in to the vet.
Well here is what I got:
1) 7 month old female Ambanja, sleeping during the day, and eating very very little. She is very small given her age as well about 4...
Hey all,
Sorry for the long awaited reply, I have been out of town for a few so I haven't had the chance to take photos yet.
Give me a few more days, and I promise to have some photos of what it looks like.
Thanks to all of you attempting to help at this time.
Shane
Hey Guys,
My 3 year old Male Maroansetra is having a shedding problem. He has this one patch near his back left leg that won't come off, and I don't want to pull it off. It is attached to a harder skin which is greyish in colour and about the size of a penny.
I haven't tried anything yet...
If that is a burn that is one cool looking burn I have to say. Don't get me wrong it sucks that it happend and I hope it gets better and heals up nicely...But a fluorescent orange burn..that looks pretty bad ass for colour lol.
Keep us posted on what the vet says I am curious to know what...
Hey,
First off welcome back to the forums, as for your cham problem I am sorry to hear about it.
Usually chams will be stubborn with what they eat, have to keep changing food regularily but to not be eating and pooping is not good.
Lets start off with the basics:
-Cage size?
-Screen...
WOW, this is all really helpful information, thanks a bunch guys/gals I really appreciate all of this. For such a small animal they take alot of work lol.
Here is my situation however, I work from 8:30am - 7:30pm by the time I get home it is around 8pm, so I normally would mist them when I...
Really? It gets dark around here by 6pm, so if I am turning the lights on at 7:30am, and turning them off at 9 should I reduce that?
say 7:30am - 8pm? What would you recommend Brad?
Shane
OK I kinda figured it was due to the change of season, but that seemed too good to be true.
It is around the same time of day as you guys or a bit later between 5:30 and 8pm. I have her timer set so the lights come on at 7:30am and turn off at 9pm.
It is fall where I live and the temps are...
Hey All,
I figured I would post something here to see if anyone has had this problem before, and knows what to do.
I already have an appointment with the vet booked, but I want to see if I can fix this without a vet visit for once.
OK here is the problem.
I have come home from work...
OK
Just as I suspected I was being too paranoid, he ate today, I came home and all the crix were gone. I guess colouring the bowl blue worked and adding it in a higher location so he didn't have to go to the ground to get food worked.
Thanks everyone for your help and support.
