Thanks for the input, I was thinkin I'll just call him Miharu until I feel it should be changed, and if that never happens, then he shall be called Miharu. :p
Blastoise is the pokemon reference. I chose it as an option because I think it would be funny to have a cham named after a giant intimidating pokemon. I do think Miharu has a nicer ring to it tho. But I will wait till I've had him for a while as suggested. ;)
Wow, this is a very interesting thread and we are very fortunate to have Ferret with us. Best of luck! I'll be thinking about your girl and checking back.
So my new little friend arrives tomorrow and I've narrowed it down to two names. He is a male ambilobe sired by Vlad. My two options are Blastoise and Miharu (Me-har-oo). I'm going to bed now. I'll check back when I wake up to see what you guys think! I'll most likely go by majority vote unless...
Honestly, it's yours if you want it. I've decided on another name for my next one, and I have no idea when I'm gonna get another opportunity. Go for it!
Vlad is a good example of a green body blue bar ambilobe. They are my favorite color for panthers. I just ordered a 5 month old from vlad last night. Here is the link, there should be a few left. https://www.chameleonforums.com/striking-ambilobe-males-females-107717/
I suggest getting a cool mist humidifier to increase the humidity of the entire room. This is the one I use and the one many members use and they haven't had problems with it...
I'm not sure what humidity levels are required for carpet chameleons but the only reason to get a humidifier is if the humidity in the enclosure is too low and you can't increase it with live plants or anything. This is a more common problem with screen cages. So the humidifiers purpose would...
They probably new that chameleons don't change color based off of what they're standing on and like Dez said, the colorful female is more appealing to viewers. I don't believe this video is in need of critique. jmo.
For chameleons or knight anoles? I don't know anything about the anoles but you check out some of the many site sponsors to find out if they ship to Canada. Here is a list of them https://www.chameleonforums.com/index.php?page=sponsors
I just did 1 min of research on Knight anoles and found that their is quite similar to that of a chameleon. Apparently they should be housed in something 2'x2'x4' as well. And I don't know how much jacksons would be in Canada, but in the US they are around the same price as a veiled, usually a...
I'm not sure if you gave me the right link, but if that's the cage you are thinking about getting, it is too small. I can't watch that youtube video as I am in school and youtube is blocked here. But for a veiled you should be getting a 24x24x48 and the dimensions of the one in the link are...
Oh wow, I keep forgetting your in Canada. You might wanna disregard everything I've said concerning prices. My bad. And if you can provide me with a link to the setup your referring to, I can check it out and try to ok it.
I'm glad I waited a few weeks before checking back on this thread. It was well worth it. It allowed me to see the drastic color change. The progression is still nice though and will be a great end product. His colors look great for his age! Keep it up! :p
I would not even allow your cat to be in the same room as the chameleon cage. There have been sad stories of people letting their cats get to their chams and they usually end in death. As far as price goes, what you stated is overpriced. Unless of course they come from highly spoken bloodlines...
You should get a 18x18x24. They cost about as much as a veiled. Maybe a little more. Here is a care sheet on them which you should review before purchasing.https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/jacksons/ I'm not sure about any breeders in Canada.
EDIT: I meant to say 18x18x36, my...
I don't think they make exo terra's large enough for an adult veiled. I believe the largest is a 18''x18''x36'' and an adult veiled should be housed in at least a 2'x2'x4'. The fact that it is glass is ok for exo terra's. People have success with these. If you do end up getting a jacksons, a...
