Hi Shelby. Thank you for the compliment. Once a reef tank is set up, allowed to 'cycle' for a few weeks, and added to slowly, it is actually quite simple to maintain it. All I do now is a small water change every 6 to 8 weeks, clean off the acrylic, and feed the fish :)

I think most people choose males if they are looking for just a single display animal. Males are most often the most colorful of the two sexes and make better display animals. They also tend to live longer. Rarely do experienced hobbyists obtain only a single female for display purposes...

Lou, You can buy mylar sheets and simply glue/tack the mylar on the top of the enclosure above your lights. Its very easy to work with and almost as reflective as a true mirror. Here's a link to a supplier. It generally isn't sold in smaller sizes that this roll, so you'll have a ton extra...

This is an 18 to 20 month old, captive hatched, Biak locale, green tree python about 3 feet long or so. This guy helps me get my 'exotic tropical' fix until I find my parsonii ;)

All plate glass companies have them, and most automotive glass places have them or can get them quickly too.

It could be a senegal, but also looks somewhat like a graceful. Looks outwardly healthy by the pic.
