Sent you an email. I'm very interested and will most likely buy, but would like to know how old it is and if you could email me a pic or two I would be grateful. Is the ballast electronic or magnetic?

Video of my other passion: reef aquaria

Hi Shelby. Thank you for the compliment. Once a reef tank is set up, allowed to 'cycle' for a few weeks, and added to slowly, it is actually quite simple to maintain it. All I do now is a small water change every 6 to 8 weeks, clean off the acrylic, and feed the fish :)

    My Cham takes naps?

In my humble opinion, a napping chameleon is a sick chameleon. It is not natural for them to 'nap'. A chameleon that takes a nap is a chameleon taking a chance at missing a meal, or most importantly, becoming a meal! You might want to consider a fecal exam to check for parasites that could be...

Your thoughts on owning male or female?

I think most people choose males if they are looking for just a single display animal. Males are most often the most colorful of the two sexes and make better display animals. They also tend to live longer. Rarely do experienced hobbyists obtain only a single female for display purposes...

    Prototype Eclosure Completed

Lou, You can buy mylar sheets and simply glue/tack the mylar on the top of the enclosure above your lights. Its very easy to work with and almost as reflective as a true mirror. Here's a link to a supplier. It generally isn't sold in smaller sizes that this roll, so you'll have a ton extra...

    A sad day

I lost a full clutch of parsonii eggs after 18 months of incubation to excess humidity the last month or so of the incubation time. The eggs swelled a bit too much and the egg shell became too leathery and the babies could not 'break' through. Only 2 babies managed to hatch but they were so...

A few pics of my green tree python...

Thanks for the compliment. This guy has just the right amount of yellow, blue, and white flecks. His only down side is that he is a bit nippy, but I expected that from a Biak. Actually, the plants are doing very well in there. They are still in their original pots and surrounded by peat...

A few pics of my green tree python...

This is an 18 to 20 month old, captive hatched, Biak locale, green tree python about 3 feet long or so. This guy helps me get my 'exotic tropical' fix until I find my parsonii ;)

Any 'open air' enclosures being used here?

All plate glass companies have them, and most automotive glass places have them or can get them quickly too.

    Is this a Senegal chameleon?

It could be a senegal, but also looks somewhat like a graceful. Looks outwardly healthy by the pic.
