My new baby, a crested gecko, he's so gorgeous, in love already. He/she as well as his/her siblings are being sold unsexed but by the white dot near his vent and has one on the other side indicates he's a male?
Do you guys know what morph he/she is? Not that I'm fussed, curious and plus I...
I booked Sebastian into the herp vet today for a general check up as he's a old man and starting to slow down, bless him.
Anyway vet looked him over, his mouth, vet, a full M.O.T and was impressed how healthy he is considering I've had him this long and that Sebastian was my first Chameleon...
Has anyone fed their adult chams these? They are classed as a treat due to their fat content. But the grubs head worries me, could they bite a cham when caught.
When left to pupate, they turn to fruit beetles.
Can you guys recommend some good Crested Gecko breeders? I've visited a few websites and don't know which one to choose to purchase from?
Also saw Lilly Exotics is charging £90 per crestie, is that a little over priced or not?
Let Sebastian out for a bit today, decided to climb on top of my laptop lid and just chill there while I typed away on skype to a friend, he's so cute <3
Yes, please post pictures and agree with above poster, stop giving into him, give him worms as a treat, I made the same mistake recently by giving a few to many and refused crickets, starved for a day or 2 and back on crickets again :)
This is entirely up to you, if you aren't concerned about money you can put him in a small cage and upgrade slowly as he grows or just buy a adult cage. Some babies can be overwhelmed in a large cage so make sure you have alot of hiding spots and try and cup feed so it makes food easier to spot...
Went to my local pet store to pick up some supplies for my new Crested Geckos I'm getting soon and over heard a customer ask a staff member which UVB a chameleon needs and heard the employee state they can have 10.0. I spoke up and told the customer they need a 5.0 that's made for tropical...
I use jungle vines and shop bought wood. I've never had issues with wood moulding or rotting, if your wood is rotting and moulding, you aren't allowing your enclosure to fully dry out between misting which is gonna cause a issue.
What is considered too much food? I know this purely depends on age. My veiled is around 2 years old roughly and eats 8-9 extra large crickets a day, is eating this many everyday too much?
He was being fed every other day but would always seem to be looking for food so went back to everyday.
All day, just create a way to drain the water, some drill holes in the PVC base and have a large tub underneath to catch the water. My chams never used them so they do fine and get their water by hand misting.
Please fill this in so we can check your husbandry :)
Pictures would also help :)
