I am no expert, but my male has Gullar Edema. Which looks something similar to this. But I am not saying that he has it. I am still researching the best I can to figure out how my 18mo male has got it.
Wow, I am subscribed to this thread and didnt get any notifications of any of these replies.
I will try to snag some photos of Clarence, but he looks similar to the Cham above, just not quite as bad. In the mean time I am going to schedule a vet visit to see if he could be of any help.
It...
Hey Everyone.
I have a 17mo old male NosyBe Panther. I have noticed he has Gular Edema. (Definate man boobs, going on to a size D if you ask me). I will admit I havent been paying as much attention to him in the last 2 weeks I was really watching my female because she was going to lay...
I think my male has starting getting this gular edema. Ive read all different supposed causes of it.
Has there ever been a conclusion on what could be causing this?
I agree with the edema. My guy shows it sometimes. I'm going to take him into the vet next week just to see what he says. I've read it could be too much vitamin A. But it doesn't seem like that's a guarenteed answer reading other threads.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I am glad everyone has enjoyed the video. When hatching time comes, I will also timelapse that event and share it with everyone.
Thanks again!!!
Thanks! Its a good thing I had the timelapse set up, because the way she flattened out the whole laying bin, I would of had no idea on where to even start looking for her eggs.
Even knowing where they were it took me a while to find them and get them all out safely.
33 Days after mating Cleo my Nosybe Panther finally laid her first clutch. Here is a timelapse of the whole day!!! ENJOY!!!! 29 healthy eggs. I am so excited.
Here is the link to her laying today. Enjoy!!!!

Now time for me to do a little exploring... I...
I chose to breed my NosyBe male Clarence with a NosyBe female due to the fact mentioned earlier. He is beyond nice. Never flares or gets angry, doesnt mind being handled, very active, eats anything out of your hand, and he is the bluest of the blue that Ive personally ever seen in a Cham. I...
Thanks for the PSA. I couldnt get down there last weekend, but possibly next time.
Well the good news is that she has started digging. She's been digging around for the last 3 days but hasnt layed yet. This morning I peeked in her cage around 8am and saw her butt first in one of the tunnels...
Nice. thanks for the info. Makes me feel a little less worried about her becoming egg bound.
I am prepped and ready for the eggs, incubator is going, vermituclite is ready, clear bins ready, just waiting on the girly to give me something to dig up.
Ok, soooooo yea, after all that making of her new laying bin, still nothing. I have set up a time lapse above her to see what she does all day, and its not much of anything. She just sits on one stick, and thats about it.. No interest at all, I put a little feeding cup in there with her, she...
Ok... So new question. Now that she is in her new big trash can laying bin, I went home at lunch today expecting to see some sort of action. Digging, anything, but of course her fat butt is just sitting on one of the sticks in the bin. no signs of digging or anything. I have a time lapse set...
Well today I caught her about on the bottom. Of course not interested in her laying bin that has been in her cage this whole time. So I went out and got a big trash can. Filled it with a foot or so of play sand, moistened it up a bit and put her in there. Hopefully she likes her new digs...
Ok. Ill stick with what I have for now.. The side of the cage I have it on, does get a few drips of water with the mistings, but never drenched. So its moist enough to make a tunnel without it caving in.. It even has a little real plant in it so she knows its dirt. and there are 2 bamboo...
When you say going to the bottom, do you mean actually walking on the bottom of the cage, or just hanging out lower then usual? Because she has been hanging out lower in her cage, but never walking on the bottom or anything like that. Currently her laying bin takes up about half of the bottom...
