i would go with the hibiscus, sounds like he might eventuly be a heavy plant eater. my male veiled eats alot of plant matter, hibiscus is the safest i think. i put one in and he stopped with the shennanagins. i am going to have to get another though there are barely any leaves left.

i have read a post on here that said blackness can be burns. it talked about a black spot on the casque and back of veiled that turned out to be sunburn.

i use them only because you can get splash resitant bulbs. i had a standard bulb blow up on my green iguana cage when i was misting. that is the only real difference i think.
