my cham would pull the rocks out to get to the soil. i ended up screening off the top of the plants. i don't know that he eats the soil, it is organic, but i stopped him nontheless.
i use a hard ware mesh made of metal on top, pet screen and 1/2in plasticmesh on side. the petscreen blocked about 23% of uvb, 1/4 metal mesh about 13%, and 1/2in plastic mesh about 10%. that was compared to direct exposure. i used a light meter i borrowed from my sister, she is a photographer...
i got my cham from petsmart because i didn't want to see him die. the female that was with him died 1 week after i got him. he was in bad shape. anyway about a month ago i was in petsmart and the lady asked me how he was doing. i told her the story of his recovery, she was evidently moved. i was...
it depends on material that it is made from. screen blocks more than mesh (plastic or metal). the spacing on the mesh also matters. the only real way to tell is to use a light meter.
Does anyone know what the sac behind the caske of a veiled is for? you can see it in this picture fairly well. it seems to get bigger as he grows. it appears to be fluid filled, but i have never touched it. he doesn't like when you reach behind him.
i get my silkies from mulberry farms. superworms(kingworms) at millbrookfarms. and crickets from american cricket ranch. my dubia roaches came from mulberryfarms originaly but are my breeders now. those places have the best quality for the price in my opinion. the supers i get fom millbrook...

just the nail, sorry. it looks like it has been bent backwards. he doesnt seem to be in any pain, i put some more polysporin on it and he seamed to like it. i will be keeping an eye on him till it heals.
today i noticed my cham has a broken claw. it is almost all the way broken off. there is a little dried blood around the base of the claw. i stealthfuly put some polysporin on it. will it be allright or does he need to go to the vet? it doesn't look infected and he still grabs vines with that...
