I personally do not think he is a Sambava... I would think he looks more like an Ambilobe. He looks like he is going to be fun to watch his changes. I have had a few in the past that show red bars and then blue bars at different stages of their lives.

When I used to use live plants I would get the decorative rock from either a craft store like Michaels or aquarium rock... Just be sure to get a size that they can not ingest.
Before I moved to larger house I had the same setup, facing each other. I had made a 1" pvc stand that I attached a shower curtain to. Was cheap light and movable.
Try putting some foliage around the bin to help make her feel more secure... I have even cut a piece of plastic foliage and actually stuck into the sand to mimic that a plant is growing out of it. Make sure that it has moisture to it so that the tunnel she will dig will not collapse on her...
I know how it feels.... I have had a few that I struggled with and there was not any scientific reason as to why... Especially when you keep quite a few and they are all thriving.I chalk it up to the more you keep, the more anomalies we will see.
I agree with you Carol... My wife works in the Vet. Field and had done so many fecals on her and we never had anything come up. I think she was just a little runt. What she lacked in size she made up for in personality. The sweetest one we have ever had. Keep up the good work with that little...
Good job and good luck with him!! I had a little girl like that. My wife named her Kiwi and she lived to 16 months but she only got to 10 grams. Never found any problems with her, fecals and all.
Outside of him having any health or husbandry issues he is at the age that some males start to get picky. Be careful with superworms as I find them to be extremely addicting to them. I personally only feed these as a special every so often. I would try offering less, maybe skip 2 out of 7 days...
I have never had a female stop eating 2-3 weeks before laying. Especially considering the short time between breeding and laying. That time frame IMO is incorrect.
I do agree however that each is on their own routine, but females going off of food, being very active and low in the cage is...
