When I first got my cham, the pet store told me to leave the lights on too and didnt tell me about any schedules either, so if ur anything like me, u have alot to learn to keep a happy healthy cham, luckily u have come to the right place!! There is endless and valuable information on this forum...
If u have never taken it to a vet it would be a good idea to take it anyways just to get a check up, checked for parasites, and have a vet established in case u do have an emergency in the future!! Make sure it a vet that specializes in herps though. There is a link on here somewhere to search...
If its the same vet that YOU took a dog too then why don't you know the name (u just can't remember? or ????? I'm really sorry ur sister wasn't more responsible or honest, I would call every vet within 30 miles, I'm sure not too many vets off'd a cham in the last couple of days!!
I would not req. the habba mist u would really need a mister by herp mist or the other one that is a sponser on here, esp with u having to travel alot, look on ebay for one of those, if u buy them from the supplier they are kinda expensive but worth their weight in gold, and u dont need a big...

Okay, I'm a little confused on your lighting, this may be what u have already and I just didn't understand but this is very important so sorry if its already what your doing... this is what u need.... a regular household 60-75 watt bulb in a clamp lamp fixture for basking, regular old soft light...
u put it right next to the screen with the direction (which is adjustable) blowing the mist into the enclosure, it will dew up the screen and the plants in line with the fog
Well since the Cham we have was the 9 yo christmas present ( hes wanted one since he was 6, but we wanted to wait until he was old enough to understand handling, or lack of handling I should say!!) he would disown us if he didn't get to go!! Plus we have him to thank for getting into Chams...
