i really don't know much about this but I do know ur gonna have to keep it moist, so every hour(?) maybe try lightly spraying just the tounge, a dropper would probably be better, drip a couple of drops just on the tounge I'd say every hour so u probably won't get much sleep tonight if u can't...
No not crazy very smart, u want ur cage up and running with correct temps, lights timers, drainage etc, before getting the cham that way when u bring home a very stressed cham he can go right into his new home and won't be disturbed with husbandry tweeking!! Excellent move in my opinon!! I think...
Also I just stick the sprayer bottle (without the nozzle screwed on) in the microwave for 1 min, then screw on sprayer nozzle, fire 5 test sprays and ready to go!!
It is a very resourceful site, u can never learn enough!! Its kinda like working for a vets office seeing all the different things that can go good or bad! Tricia
What is ur lighting sched? Do all lights go out at night? Is ur thermostat digital? What kind is it? Some are very inaccurate, at least the first one I purchased compared to a digital with probe was very different. I would fill out the questionaire, at least the parts of it u haven't already...
Drippers are the GREATEST!! My cham only drinks from his dripper, its positioned above a leaf so the leaf has a constant drip, i still mist for humidity and it seems to tell my guy its time to drink and or eat, for my guy a dripper supplies a constant source so he can drink whenever hes ready...
I don't believe a tupperware will be deep enough and depending on the size of ur cham it might not have enough diameter, I believe u want like 6-8 inches, read the link brad submitted it should tell u what u need to know, most people put the bin inside the enclosure for the cham to go to when...
Thank you everyone!! Beardie it is!! My husband keeps trying to convience me they are or get mean when they get big, they do usually stay friendly as they grow (unlike chams) right?
i think two sides is good, I wouldn't do three as u know they do need good ventilation. Hibiscus is a good plant and panthos also. there is a safe list on here, the more the better!! I'm pretty sure they make in-line type H20 heaters but I'm a chick and new to this so maybe someone else will...
I'm curious about the counter to counter at the airport thing mentioned? Anyone know about this? I would feel sooo much better about driving to the airport and picking my guy up as soon as he exited the plane from where ever rather than him get thrown on ups truck or otherwise, I've seen them...
Since we are going to the reptile show in Orlando, I was thinking about getting a baby beardie or water dragon. I was wondering how friendly they are, do they make good companion pets or are they more like Chams and for looking at only? I want something that enjoys the company of a human ( and I...
nobody on here would be offended to show theirs off, thats what this site is about, sharing and learning and teaching!! The easiest is for you to go to the enclosure section on the forum (click on Forums at the very top left, then select sub category Enclosures) and go through a bunch of threads...
I know the feeling!! I must have a huge sign thats invisable to me hanging on my front gate that says Humane Socitey-No kill shelter Please leave all unwanted animals here!! I'll never be able to afford to have children at this rate, my weekly pet bill is 1/2 our income!! But, we love every last...
