I use shoe boxes as well, but after I put my cham in the box (With a branch that she can sit on, I hear her scratching the sides of the shoe box.
Does this happen to anyone else?
LOL, don't worry, my better half already told me if it escapes from it's cage it's being stepped on.
Ah Lurch sounds so cool, thanks
They do have venom which is harmless unless you are allergic to it.
Very few spiders are actually poisonous.
TBO, any spider that lurks in my house gets...
Ok, so I decided to get a new kid on Saturday, I have been considering this now for a while and finally took the plunge.
I bought a Pink Toe tarantula spiderling which looks kind of like this at this stage:
And will eventually look like this:
I'm bummed out regarding a name for...
Ok, I haven't laughed as hard in a while before reading this. - it might be a terrible/inhumane idea, but it was still funny how it was posted - thanks Pure:D
Syn, always craving salt might be a sign of an underlying problem. Craving salt is usually a sign of low blood pressure.
Do you feel light headed when you stand up too quickly, or does your salt craving go out of control sometimes?
If you still are so young its understandable that your so hungry. I was also like that when i was a teen. *nostalgic moment*
And also, the things you eat isn't very nutritious, have you tried eating food that has more protein/carbs etc?
Have you not grown taller? if you haven't grown in four...
Not carbs but starch.
Here you go:

I don't even hear...
I read somewhere that if you gut load with potato, they should not be put in the refrigerator (The potatoes), as all that starch turns to sugar.
You'll be feeding your chams cricket twinkies. :D
Hope this helps
I have seen the same behaviour from my cham when I placed her in a normal rubbermaid plastic bin (for her to lay eggs). she got so used to the fact that she was able to climb the walls in her normal cage, she naturally asumed she could climb those as well.
Isn't the exo-terra just as cheap as those screen cages on LLL in the states?
It costs me the equivalent of $271 (R2200) to get those exo terra screen cages locally in SA...
Exo-terra also sells screen terrariums:
http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/screen_terrarium.php
I have no experience with these, but it looks like a better alternative to the flexariums they sell (I don't like the zips)
Could these glass terrariums not help keep heat when it is cold...
