Yep, it's a few times a year at White Plains. I went in November 2011. Very interesting, but I found it incredibly overwhelming and not sure I would enjoy going again! Lovely venue though, and good parking, excellent selection of vendors too.
Congratulations! It's a common worry, but you'll be fine with usual precautions. I'm assuming your chameleon hasn't made you sick before, no reason to think he'll start now. Just don't lick him ;)

Copy and paste the following, and give us as much detail as you can, there are a lot of things that could cause the problems you are experiencing, and this will help us figure out how to help you:
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it...
My Ivy is a few months over a year and has started behaving differently. She's very restless, tours her cage constantly and has started going down to the bottom of the cage. I can't feel her belly without losing an arm, so I'm just leaving her to it for a while. I've filled a big Rubbermaid box...
Do not feel bad about this. You are doing the best you can with the information you have been given. It's very difficult to contradict advice from someone you feel has more authority than you when it comes to complicated things such as chameleon care.
The most important thing is to learn as...
I think the point about it seeming inconsiderate to choose to have predators in your chameleon initially seems valid, however I do have a few observations:
Firstly, your are also a big terrifying predator to your chameleon, and you are regularly imposing your presence on him.
Secondly, there...
No, just get quite anxious! I assumed the box wouldn't be kept the right way up, so there's no way to put anything else in the deli cup with him other than a damp paper towel for a little comfort. He should arrive within an hour...
Thank you for the reassurance, Shauna!
They are gorgeous! In answer to your first question, I'm assuiming you mean when do they come out of the container the eggs were incubated in? I put them in the baby habitat as soon as I noticed them, they are so jumpy and desperate to hide in leaves!
Don't panic. For now, get the deepest container you can find (big flower pot, plastic storage bin, clean garbage can) and if you have any to hand, put in a soil and sand mixture moist enough that she can dig a tunnel to the bottom without it collapsing on her.
Here is a blog with thorough info...
He's going to Maryland, which isn't too far, hoping he'll be okay. Was more worried about him being too cold.
I miss him already, but my kitchen counters suddenly look much bigger... Gone from 10 reptiles in the kitchen to just one.
No... Temps here have been low 70s for a few weeks... Do you think he'll be okay? They've all tolerated temps into the 90s over the last couple of months (with frequent mistings, a/c when it got unbearable etc) but maybe it's different if he's in a tiny cup with tiny air holes?!
