What do YOU feed your roaches?

Is there a certain amount of the different ingredients you put together (a cup x, teaspoon y, ect.) or do you kind of toss "the bag" in and call it good?

What do YOU feed your roaches?

this is priceless information. I need to take a nutrition class next term. To be honest I don't know half of what the terms you are using really mean

What do YOU feed your roaches?

I think I might have to give that a try. The roaches have kind of become my pets too, and are a medium to my chams. Its a complicated relationship lol

Pics of your drainage set up for ideas.

I am using reptariums right now (not for long though, I hate them). I got some fruit dishes from the dollar store that I put under the cages. They hold the frame up the cage up so that there is plenty of room for water to sit w/o touching the bottom of the screen. I just rinse them off and wipe...

What do YOU feed your roaches?

There are lots of post on the internet, and on this forum about the best foods to feed feeder roaches. I feed mine vegies like green/red leaf lettuce, green peppers, sometimes a little spinag, apples, bannana's, and cat/dog food (which is in there at all time. I keep turks and dubia's. How about...

    Eggs or feeding too much?

I felt for eggs and got nothing. I think she is just fat. She has been eating probabably 8 or so adult/large nymph lateralis roaches a day. I am going to cut down to about 5 every other day and drop the heat a bit. Are the males ok eating a lot? I swear if I let him in a roach bin he would eat...

    Eggs or feeding too much?

What other signs might there be besides wandering that she might be getting ready to lay? I showed her the male last night to see if she was reseptive, and she was. I am assuming that means she is not carrying...?

    Eggs or feeding too much?

She is a cute one, thank you. She is actually pretty lazy, at least compared to my male. She has a flower pot that is 9" around and only 5" deep with "cactus mix" in it for now. I am going to get the 12x12 moist sand bin in a garbage can that everyone is talking about this weekend and see what...

    Eggs or feeding too much?

I did a lot more reading and it looks like I really need to cut back on the food and drop the basking spot to about 80/85. She is always uniform peach color with no pattern unless directly stressed (taken out of cage). What are the chances she is carrying?

    Eggs or feeding too much?

I have a 12 month old (in 4 days) female Ambilobe that is 9 1/2" and 52 grams. She looks fat and is very lazy. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I'm hoping her weight is normal and that she is not carrying infertile eggs. I give her as many turkish roaches as she will eat every day, and she usually leaves...

    ....female?

Hey guys, I am not good at sexing chams yet. I have 4 month old "female" ambilombe. I am not sure because of her stripes and color. She is sometimes the peach/brown color, but more often has some sort of pattern. Sometime I see light reds and even more often and stronger yellow. Her sister...

    Growth rates

It will be exiting to see the small one hit her little growth spurt. I have only seen a few other panthers, but the 6 month female I saw not all that much bigger than my big female. I think she will be a big one. Hard to say given my limited experience with this species though, but she is a...

    Growth rates

She is literally about twice the size though, its hard to believe the size difference can be that much. I've bred plenty of snakes and monitors and I've never seen anything like it. I keep thinking in the back of my head that something is wrong, but it sounds like that is not the case. Glad I...

    Growth rates

I have two female Ambilobes born just a couple days apart. They are about 4 months old now and one of them is twice the size of the other one. They are being housed exactly the same (cage, plant, temps, decor, ect), and being offered the same amount of food. Obviously the larger one eats bigger...
