Have not been there but have called and emailed the office in the Broad Ripple area and they always get back to me quickly. And they only do exotics so I like that also. Good luck.
I have a one year old male Jackson's that will only eat flies! He will go weeks without touching worms, crickets, or roaches. I put a fly in and eats it immediately. So are there any gut load able flying bugs? Any ideas for other flying insects to try? Please help!
My approx one year old male Jackson's has been sleeping during the day at times and spending more time than I like at or near the bottom of his enclosure. He will only eat blue bottle flies also! I have not seen him eat a cricket or worm in several weeks. He is drinking fine, urine looks good...
Diversity is the key! Try different good quality feeders and then feed what the cham likes.. Stay open to other feeders as your Cham may stop eating one thing all of a sudden. Crickets, roaches, horn worms, Phoenix worms, silkworms, mantis, and even some safe wild caught bugs can add some good...
I would turn up the mistings, I run a humidifier in my Jackson's cage for 30 minutes every two hours during the day. Also make sure your dripper is running at a good pace. My guy will not drink from his dripper if it is too slow, likes it at a steady slow flow. Hopefully with time he will get...
Dude, I love it! Cleaner than my current set up. I also like that the whole bottom is covered, no random splashes. The price is great also, I love Ikea. What section was it in? Did you order it or get in the store? Time for a
little road trip.
Try a new feeder to spice things up a some. Buy or order some blue bottle files, often good for kick starting an appetite. Might be able to catch a few wild ones as long as they are pesticide free. Other wild bugs like small, plain colored moths are good also. I find that when my Jackson's goes...
I recently tried Phoenix worms for the first time on my young adult male Jackson's. He really enjoys them and I want to make them part of his regular diet. Because of the high calcium level in these feeders and Jackson's reaction to over supplementation, I want to make sure these are safe for...
I have a young male adult Jackson's and he loves Phoenix worms! What would be a safe amount to feed him these in a week? He also is getting gut loaded crickets and blue bottle flies and occassionally a super worm if he is in the mood to eat it, he is hit or miss on them. I know the phoenix worms...
The trick is to only put climbing material on the back of the cup. The crickets can't climb the smooth front part so they rarely escape. You will have one get loose here and there but that is no big deal. Most people use window screen to climb on for the bugs.
Cage size is great. 5.0 UVB is perfect, 10.0 is a bit much for Jackson's. Will probally do better with a 40 watt regular lightbulb over a heat emitter, will be better for daytime heat and light. I use a simple dripper and sprayer so I don't really know that water system, would do lots of...
What about UVB? I saw a basking light but no mention of UVB light? Maybe try cup feeding so you can more easily control the food for the little guy. Gotta watch mealworms also, some Chams have problems with them. Maybe try some flies to get him eating again. Good luck, keep us posted.
