what kind of nozzle is it? metal or plastic? i have really copper ones which are easy to unclog with vinegar (which happens to be a really good acid) to get rid of the calcium buildup and whatever else. plastic nozzles are crap and i suggest using one made of metal. if you have a copper one...
you should go back to the vet and get a fecal test. there may be protozoans in his his belly which explains why he eats but never gets too hungry.
how many feeders do you get at a time? where do you keep them? and how often do you clean it?
what about the chameleons cage?
be honest lol
a quarter size piece of cardboard from like an eggcrate…? ever see what happens to those when they are soaked in water? not to mention thats a small amount of cardboard. i wouldnt worry too much
can you post a picture of her and what she looks like atm? usually, she will cut back on eating and prob start searching at the bottom of her cage. also the tell sign is coloration..dark colors, maybe some purple spots or something. an extra large bloated belly. if she were ready to lay you...
yes exactly, just how a human getting a pimple is a form of the skin dealing with an infection. it wont go down.. but it may spread. you really should just get the vet to take it off and all better lol. he will have some dark coloration after the removal and thats ok, its just the skins response...
thats infection, see, what i learned is that chameleons don't respond to infection like humans.. we get actual liquid pus inflammation. a chams equivalent to pus is actually a white flaky scab. the skin on a cham grows in layers so the pus will sit on the skin even though the infection arises...
its wasn't a lump, but it was raised crusty scales that looked as if you could try to pick it off. i didnt do that, instead i had the vet remove it for me under a scope. when i think of lump, to me it implies under the skin..i hope thats not your case because then i def dont know but that doesnt...
yes chances are it is gone already, but the only way to find out is to remove the old pus, scaby scales to see if the scales underneath are completely touching.. if he still has it , like mine did when it was removed, then you would be able to see some separation between the newer scales. you...
from looking more at the pics, it def looks like some sort of infection, prob nothing serious but you should def have it looked at because it will cause scarring the longer you wait. my panthers infection didn't spread that much but it would grow more and more..it almost had a "web" pattern to...
my panther had a similar bump.. it was white hard and crusty looking. he seemed fine, ate and drank but i noticed he was a little more lethargic then usual. the hard, white, scab looking scale is actually the chameleons way of responding to infection. their pus appears this way..it may be...
i have a 100 watt bulb in a 2'x2'x4' enclosure... my panthers basking perch is about 5 inches from the dome of the lamp (suspended above cage). it is about 92-93 degrees and he seems to do fine
i have spent hours worrying about what my chameleon was doing and what he wasn't doing...lol. listen, you will drive yourself nuts. just let the cham do its thing, im sure nothing it wrong. :)
for my male panther, i have about the same temps. my basking temp is a little higher but that's...
thats the thing with chameleons, water is essential. regardless if its water dripping or water misting you will need some sort of pan or dish. i could post some pics of what i do to solve this problem.
...too much water dripping on a ficus will kill it. hibiscus is very hard to keep healthy in...
hey everyone, i have a quick question which may either be nothing at all or a possible health issue. if it is a health issue or you feel you may need more info then i will post all the necessary information.
i moved my 6 month female because i was going on vacation. friends of mine were...
its seems like they may be too young? you did say reaching sexual maturity.. you may need to give it time. if everything else is ok, and you don't notice your girls fighting or not eating, feeling stressed, whatever the case may be then leave them where they are housed. soon enough you will have...
minerall-o is my calcium supplement w/o D3... i use crickets as feeders and they are gut loaded with cricket cack and whatever else i feel like giving them. not really the feed back i was looking for lol
