This is Reptar about 1 years old veiled chameleon. He’s had a pretty rough start to things was dropped off in a box to my local reptile store. Had a RI when I brought him home and had to have 12 rounds of shots to get ride of it all before being able to settle into his new home. He’s made a full...
I would think it would depend on if they can see the light coming in.. if they can I would adjust to it. If not I would set it up for what works for you. I keep mine at 8am to 8pm. And I live in Michigan too. Mine don’t get any sun light coming in so I don’t have to worry to much.
I use a Philips 4 way wifi smart outlet plus another single smart outlet( one of the 4 is always on) each socket besides the 4th can be controlled separately and can be done from your phone. Really good for getting the exact times that you want.
Id be willing to wrap it in plastic or something to get humidity right for frogs if it came to it I really like frogs lol would t an arboreal gecko need a taller enclosure? The pupated ones are still alive but it’s been over a month on this batch I had another batch all died. So idk. The cage is...
Any suggestions on a reptile to put in this thing. I tried to breed hornworms but can’t see to get them to turn into moths the pupate and that’s it, eventually die. I mist them when I see the soil dry so I’m not sure. So time for something else. Was think maybe frogs? Or a gecko? I’m willing to...
Thank you. Yes If you look closer the left one is wrapped in plastic the right one will be too. All I had was black I want to change it to white made the cage too dark for my liking
Getting excited for my new chameleon. Changed out some things in the room. Took out the table from Reptars cage and added the plastic shelf’s. Got the uvb light mounted and jungle dawn light in place. Switched out my mister and fogger for leap brand mister and fogger and really pleased with both...
My guy has his normal spot were he likes to sleep a lot. But he also likes to sleep in the weirdest spots. Last night he was at the front corner with his nose up in the corner two feet on the screen to on a branch. See 2nd picture
Having trouble getting reptar to eat new bugs I’ve tried Dubias though those might have been to small I think. Super worms he ate once and won’t touch them again. Black soldier fly large brought no interest. He loves his crickets and horn worms. Just trying to get a more variety of food for him...
And again today he took the hornworm from my hand this time after seeing me and going back to his corner he came back to the front to get it. Seem to be gaining some trust back again slowly be surly (:
Be awhile for that I had to be sitting on the ground with my arm up in order for him to take it. He sees my face at any point in that and he will go away from it
Today I was able to feed reptar a hornworm from my hand. He was hesitant at first but he did it after a few minutes of waiting. Happy chameleon keeper today (:
