I missed the long tongue to the hand, but it doesn't matter much on this one. Total coincidence I had a piece of paper that matched her dress for the background. I was searching for my light blue background and came across this instead.
Haha. That might be awhile.;)
You would think I would have taken some by now of him in his enclosure, but nothing with my camera. Here is a pic I took with my phone a few days ago.
Thank you, Jann.
Thanks, Dave. I believe this was number 5 for him today, so he definitely didn't go to bed hungry.
Thanks so much, Carol. It seems like he has doubled in size in the last few days too. He's growing like a weed. I was taken back at how small he was when I received him a month ago.
Since this thread has been such a big hit with so many comments, I decided to try again today.:) This pic is a little better since I nailed the tongue shot, but the plan was to pull the wood back further for a longer tongue. I had it this close for the first worm to get him warmed up and I fully...
It's funny how this guy seems to always have nice strong patterns when he's in his cage, but looks plainer when I get him out. You would think it would be the opposite. I took the first pic in this set from yesterday right off the bat because he still had good patterns, but they still weren't...
Thanks, Dave. I appreciate that.
Haha. He's so young and has so much growing and coloring to do, it will be at the very least a year before the photo session is over. You surely will have found one by then.;)
Thanks. Can't wait until I get the super long shot. This wasn't even the "small" species I was going to get for tongue shots, but am glad I did get him. Still waiting on the brookesia minima.
Thank you.
Thanks everyone. Here's a better tongue shot from this morning, but unfortunately I misjudged the distance and I had him too close again. Five minutes after this shot I saw him eat 4 fruit flies in his cage about twice this distance. I'll give him a break and try again in a few days. Hopefully...
Just a few shots of my little cham. The first two were taken yesterday while trying to get a shot of him eating some hornworms that just hatched. He ate several from that position. Today the worms were a little bigger and he ate several more. Not too happy with either of the tongue shots, but...
Thank you all.
Thanks. No, they actually didn't go anywhere at all.:) I was lucky that the hornworm was being super lazy. Made for an easy shoot.
Thank you. No official name, but I've been calling him Waldo, since it's normal for me to have to search and search for him when I go to his cage...
That's really cool. So has he never shot his tongue out at a fish? I was just curious, since I have tried with three different chameleons on three different occasions in my studio with a bowl of goldfish and all three got to the point of sticking their tongues in and out, but none of them ever...
It was on a Christmas ornament at Walmart for $1. It was on a styrofoam snowman and was much larger around at the base. I cut a piece off each side of the seam of the back and sewed it back up to fit a chameleon. For the strap I took one of those cheap paper party hats and cut off a piece of the...
Yes, he certainly is. What, yours don't ever wear hats? I'm way too slow at Photoshop to ever do something like that and make it look 100% real. Not my style anyway.
Thank you so much. I appreciate that.
Thank you.
