be careful with a glass enclosure and the sun, could cause overheating in the enclosure..... i know down in florence, there is a store that carry's black soldier fly larvae... fairly cheap... super high in calcium..... pet supplies plus... its on mall road.
the white stuff is likely "salts" from over supplementing.
I would try to give her a "shower", stick her in tub turn shower on luke warm, aim it at the wall, and keep an eye on her. sometimes, a shower will initiate a hunger response.

i'm slowly purchasing the pieces myself.... i too, was put off by the cost of one of the "high end" controllers. They look pretty, but..... pretty isn't every thing... just need a friend with a 3d printer to print me a "box" for it....
if you are looking for a "fogger" try walmart, kmart, home depot, so on so forth... they have small room humidifiers that work well for just humidity. the misting system in conjunction with a humidifier.... very good idea.

the cage false bottom, is really soft... plants will cause it to bow down, and cant really put a whole lot of weight on the top of the...
i would probably try a taller pot... 4 inches isnt sufficient for an egg laying bin. i would try at least 12x12x12... or bigger, space permitting.
