We live in a dry climate, and it has been challenging getting the humidity just right. I think there were times when it was to too dry and he got dehydrated, or possibly his cage was too damp at night. I think you're right there is an underlying reason, but hopefully we have it figured out now.
He has been gaping, and I've heard some popping sounds occasionally, and putting his nose up a lot. I would rather not give antibiotics unless absolutely needed. Before the Reptaid he had stringy saliva, popping sounds a lot, lethargy,
gaping, bubbles coming out of his mouth and loss of...
So I took my approximately 4 1/2 month male panther chameleon to the vet today because I suspected a respiratory infection. The vet had very little experience with Chameleons, she looked in his mouth and said she didn't see any sign of infection. I asked for an antibiotic incase the symptoms...
Yes, but I had to ask for it. I will get the results back in a few days. have you heard of the yogut? I was wondering if it would be good to dust a cricket with my pb-8 probiotic I take? or should I try to find a probiotic for reptiles?

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, the store we bought him from didn't
give us that information, and we weren't informed enough at the time to ask.
I know now that we should have bought from a breeder, but we have learned from our mistakes!! (He's a part of the family now).We are learning a...
Thanks for your help and for the links! There's a lot of good info there!
He seems so much better this morning, he drank water for 10 minutes straight!
I feel bad having to take him to the vet and stress him out, but I better be safe, and take him. Thanks again! Everyone has been so helpful on...
Took Mo to the vet today. update & question
Hi Again,
We are bringing our young male Panther("MO")
To the vet tomorrow for what seems to be a respiratory infection.
We tried to use reptaid, and it did seem to really help , but he seems to have developed the symptoms again, gaping...
Hi, this is my panther chameleon Maximo,("Mo") I think he is a male. Can you guys tell by his coloring what kind of panther chameleon he is and possibly how old he is?
Sorry for it being tipped upside down, I don't know how to fix it.
I will try and put better pics tomorrow.
Hey, I am getting a new UVB for my chameleon and the store has a 24" reptisun 10.0 hood and I have an 18" reptibreeze cage. Do you guys think that this will work? By the way for my panther I am going to upgrade my cage to an XL in probably 7 months. Thanks!
I live in Northern Nevada, it was only about 65 outside, that's why I had him just inside the door with the door open. I think what happened is it got too hot being near the glass side of the slider. I think he is okay, I just wanted to make sure I was doing everything I could for him.
