Do you have a shower? just put the cage in the shower to hose it off. thats what I do with my tanks instead of dragging them outside. Then I just bleach the shower when I am done. (lol i haveother herps besides my cham and fish tanks)

Also, what types of vines are safe to use? I have read that Mandela? vines aren't safe to use, but that's mostly what I see in the local pet stores around here for vines. Something about the sap being poisonous? Can I use grape vines? like what you see in craft stores if I wash them really well?

A shoe box with towels in it, a small bird carrier (you can buy them at petco/petsmart and are usually cloth that zips, or just hold him for the ride. Small critter keepers would work with a towel in it.
