Hey guys, I'm looking for a small favour, I've been trying to find some (good) articles that talk about the eyesight of a chameleon, how sensitive they are, and how well their vision is mainly.
Since they're eyes and tongues are what make chameleons, chameleons, aside from their ability to...
Is she eating on her own?
If not look back on page 2 of this thread, i wrote a post about making a bug paste solution that should giver her some energy and nutrition until she can eat on her own again.
goodluck! and I really admire your willingness to help this chameleon. You wouldn't...
You need to be careful with the spacing of the bars, if they're wide enough for the cham to get it's head through, you may need to wrap aluminum mesh around the entirety of the cage, also to make sure feeders don't escape.
Pictures would help.
The white discharge from the nose tends to happen when you dust your feeders too heavily with calcium powder, make sure your feeders aren't turning white, and are just lightly dusted.
The opening and closing of the mouth could be a few things, either trying to get rid of some shedding skin...
I was just about to ask if he went through or if he is currently go through a shed.
Doesn't sound like a problem yet, If you see any strange behaviour outside the eating then I'd be worried, or if this persists for a few more days.
Try some waxworms or phoenix worms if you can get them.
Kale, or shredded carrots will hold them off, but they won't live and grow on them. They will NEED mulberry leaves or the chow.
I bred them for a while and kept TONS of mulberry leaves, it's a pain!
It all depends on the ratio of nutrients that "combo" multivitamin and D3 has, You might overdose on Vit. A using it.
If you want a definitive answer you will have to post the EXACT percentage of everything in it, or post a link to the exact product listening it's ingredient and %'s, even...
I've been using a rainbow of fruits and veggies, and it seems to be working great, I've looked at the cricket crack recipe and it's amazing, but shipping to anywhere but America makes it a hassle, and running out could become a problem.
As long as you use a variety of veggies and fruits...
Ok, so looking at those pictures it looks like your chameleon is suffering from a few things.
-Dehydration
-Lack of body mass (the tail is a dead give away), due to not eating and not receiving proper nutrition.
-MBD (metabolic bone disease) this is due to a lack of Calcium with D3, and/or a...
Alright, first of, thanks for filling in the rest of the form : )
According to your regimen, You're going to want to add a phosphorus free calcium powder with D3, as others have already stated, I would advice using that powder maximum once a week, ideally twice a month, If your cham is...
I think what Syn is trying to get across is that, If you didn't know that you needed to supplement with calcium (very basic knowledge) and you're also gut-loading with Lettuce, then there might be more that you could be improving on, not to say you're doing anything wrong, but if everyone is...
Sorry my last post was just in regards to feeding spiders : P
I remember hearing about a product similar to the one in this link http://www.amazon.com/Weitech-0180-B-1000-Sq-Plug-Repeller/dp/B00004RAML
I'm not sure how effective they are since I've never used one, but if your looking to...
There are many spiders in Ontario that are venomous, most not enough to harm humans, but many have small amounts of venom, I live in mississauga, 30 minutes away from Toronto and I've found several of them.
Even if you find a spider and KNOW it's not venomous, you don't know if that spider has...
Don't buy it PLEASE.
I work at a PetSmart and I go out of my way to make sure any chameleon we have gets the best care possible, I even bring in my own supplements and gut load crickets up to my standards and not the stores. I even come in on my days off to do extra mistings and make sure...
You have no practical experience with chameleons and you'd be willing to test something potentially harmful to a chameleon you did own. You seem to have no regard for the safety and well being of an animal YOU'D own, let alone other users chams.
I would never test something potentially harmful...
