You tell the wife that when the first kid moves out it will be the Chameleon room. And she actually agrees to it.
You have an enclosure of worms and crickets in your formal living room where all the formal dinners are eaten (dont know how I got away with that one).
You get excited because...
So I usually scrub through craigslist (mostly when I am trying to burn some time) to find a gem in the rough. I look for enclosures, lights, etc. And so I came across this handsome young man. He comes with enclosure thats in the picture plus vitamins and some food for only $120 dollars. Of...
It really is a trust thing. My jacksons have been handled since they were babies and have no issue with me holding them or taking them places (around the house of course). I bought my veiled when he was like 5 months old and he was never handled. It has been a long going process to gain his...
One of my chems don't drink in front of me. Unless they don't know that I am there and sneak up to them. The other just don't care. Just keep an eye on the eyes. If they start sinking in that's the sign that they need water.
I really like to have them around for a while. Try and get a feel for their personality and work with that. It has worked 99 percent of the time for me. the other 1 percent. Well the name was indeed "noname". But that was for a fish.
Looking good. Just a question though. Is your screen coated? The never recommend non coated screen as it could hurt your chems feet. In addition to that. I did a build sheet with pictures on a wooden enclosure that might give you a great idea on 1. a background for that nice looking enclosure...
Agree with most. Substrate helps out alot. Ventilation and heat are huge factors. I buy 1000 which last about 3 weeks for my chems and I have maybe 10 deaths total. Most of it is from already injured during delivery.
I couldn't pick more than one but Im an in the planning stages to house a male panther and a pair of carpets. Oh the research on best set ups take ALONG time.
Yeah man. A buddy of mine collects weird (exotic) plants as well and he has one of those. Everytime he finds a new plant I do the research to see if its chem safe. I looked at my list and you are golden. I am sure your chem would love it.
Be aware that the sense vibrations too. So you might have them covered up but if you have that surround sound subwoofer pounding it will keep them up as well.
I put about 10 crickets in there in the morning. I observe how many are left when I get home. Sometimes my adult male will pound through then and sometimes he doesn't eat (typically before and during shed). If I noticed the enclosure is empty I put more in or give him a super worm. Its all based...
