Hi Im new to this and dont know what to believe!

Finding out the exact species of your chameleon is extremely important. Different species have different temperature and humidity requirements that must be met for optimal health. Try posting a picture here if at all possible. Sleeping during the day, with the lights still on, is not at all...

    Reptisun 5.0 vs 10.0

I really have absolutely no experience with reptariums. For my babies I use aluminum screened cages that measure 18 x 20 x 12 until they are 5 months old or so. I don't care for the dark mesh on the reptarium so i have never tried them out :)

    Reptisun 5.0 vs 10.0

Yep, way too big ;) try sectioning part of it off until your cham gets bigger. In such a large cage it will be hard for the baby to find feeders and it will be hard for you to be able to monitor how much he is eating, if he is pooping, if he is drinking. This size enclosure would be great for...

    Reptisun 5.0 vs 10.0

A 10.0 is not usually recommended for a baby mostly due to the smaller size of the enclosure and the baby's inability to escape such strong UVB rays. That being said, as long as your cham can get completely out of the rays if he or she needs to, I think that it would probably be okay. Heavily...

    Incomplete Shedding

My male veiled sometimes will get the same line on his back after a full shed and then will shed that entire top piece a second time a few days later. I have tried everything.. thinking it was a humidity problem, a vitamin a problem.. but everything seems to be fine in my husbandry so i have...

    Software Updates

    Help...picky eater

Most of my chameleons will eat worms readily if they can see them well. A glass dish may not be the best thing to feed them out of because it may not give enough of a contrast for your cham to be able to get a good view on them. I feed about 50% crickets and 50% superworms to my chameleons. I...

    Synchronicity or Warewolf genes?

You know.. I never noticed before, but it is a full moon (or almost at least) tonight and 6 of my chams had started shedding when i got home from work. Strange ;)

Super worms are mad at me

I keep my superworms in a cat litter box (that i bought new for this purpose, of course). This way they get all the ventilation they need. I keep them in a bedding of infant cereal, bran and oatmeal. I have never once had the bedding mold and haven't had any escapees, either!

    do chameleons sneeze?

Thanks Kinyonga :P That is exactly the sound that mine makes though unless you held your ear right up to her, you wouldn't hardly hear it out all. When she makes that sound though, she does a little vibrate thingie.

    do chameleons sneeze?

Chameleons can also "hoot". It is like.. a vibration sound that they make, presumably to communicate. My female veiled does it when I pick her up. She doesn't fire up or anything. It is more of a warning, i think, and it isn't even really a sound.. haha.. I can't explain it. I remember...

    New Veiled owner

It wasn't terribly noticeable in mine.. he just moved.. oddly. Kind of jerkily.. if that makes sense.

    New Veiled owner

This is a picture of one of my male veileds. When I got this guy, I took him in as a rescue from a pet store. I knew that he had MBD when I got him. He was still eating and drinking well. All 4 of his legs were broken. He is 10 months old in this picture. 10 months! He was tiny. What I...

    New Veiled owner

I know that it can be hard to realize that something definitely may be wrong, but I am almost positive that your chameleon is showing signs of MBD. To be on the safe side, I would take her to the vet for a check up. Best case scenario, I am wrong and she is great. And if not.. at least you...

    do chameleons sneeze?

He may be doing a little "i am pissed off" hiss that they do. Mine seemed to do it more so at this age and my veileds still do it, although my panthers do not.

    Boogies, Foam, Popping Noises

Yep.. definitely sounds like a URI.. and the only way to confirm and treat this is at a qualified vet. Good luck with your baby!

    Not eating?

I am assuming that you have them in the same cage? Perhaps being around the male is stressing the female out. You may want to look into purchasing another setup and seperating them. I don't have a lot of experience with jackson's but I do know that almost all chameleon species are solitary...
