Mylo is indifferent to clothes, but HATES glasses and HATES acrylic nails.
He falls out with me when I change my hair colour, like, he knows it's me so still comes to me, but he'll give me this look haha!
He also gets confused when my room is dark and his UVB light is on and glowing onto...
When Mylo does it I call him "pancake chameleon" and say that he is "pancaking" XD
But yeah, every morning Mylo will go to his basking spot, puff out, then yawn. Every morning without fail.
Mylo is an unusual chameleon. He is VERY hand-tame and VERY affectionate. He is also incredibly attached to me. He spends most of his time sitting on me or climbing out his cage over to see me. He is extremely placid and unphased by most things :)
Welcome! The forum will have everything you will ever need to know, and no question is ever "silly". I have an e-mail I offer to new owners that I could send you if you ever want it, it's basically everything you'd really need to know for keeping a chameleon with pictures of illnesses etc to...
Haha I thought that but the background kinda ruins the picture coz I'm mid-way through decorating my room and it's a mess :P Might try get my photoshop skills on and super-impose him onto a christmassy background lol
This makes me so SO mad!! I'm glad chameleons aren't really sold in pet stores in Scotland, and the few I have seen have been in the correct set-ups.
Pets At Home are the "big brand for the UK, and they are pretty bad though. A friend of mines works there and apparently they don't like you...
Quick update: Mylo's vet told me that sometimes chams will feed like this when feeling "sorry for themselves". He checked his tongue and took his bloods and all is well. Mylos tongue has worked perfectly minus that one day. So I'm gonna take the vet's word that Mylo was acting strange simply...
A simple blood test will be able to indicate whether it's MBD or Gout. It shouldn't cost much, though in the states your vet bills seem crazy! You could look into pet insurance, mines is only £11 a month.
I hope she recovers, not much more advice can be given until a blood test or xray is...
Yep! Same spot everytime!
Also, anyone's cham a "shy pooper"? If I walk in the room and he's mid-poop, he stops and somewhat glares at me till I leave...
If it's not MDB but in fact gout though, this could make it 50 times worse. It's always best to get the advise of a vet, even just a consultation and buy the meds yourself online when you know the dosages. Pet insurance would cover it though, and a good vet wouldn't rip you off (unless UK exotic...
I agree, in that pic she doesn't look too bad. If she is struggling with her grip, move her to a smaller screen cage with a soft fall and plenty of vines, or alternatively turn the cage on it's side to make the drop shorter. Keep her in this till she is better, it may prevent a few broken bones...
Thanks for your suggestions! That's exactly what he was doing! It's so strange though, he's back to normal today? Was shooting perfectly with his tongue =/ If it happens again I'll definitely try the fish oil, though he's definitely getting the right amount in his supplements. Really confused.
I'm not in my house atm (at my boyfriend's, but it's Repcal I use for all 3 supplements).
As for UVB it's Exo terra Repti Glow 5% UVB, replaced every 4 month (just got replaced a month ago).
Sorry if I worded that wrong, he doesn't eat every day, when he DOES eat he will eat 4-6 insects. At...
Thanks for the replies.
That's what is puzzling me. His supplements are all fine:
Phosphorus free calcium without D3 everyday
Phosphorus free calcium with D3 twice a month
Multivitamin twice a month
He eats a variety of feeders -hoppers and locusts/brown crickets/silkworms/moths/dubia...
