The cages size might be the issue. He might want his 24 •24 •48+ size cage and more free range time. Temp seems right. A picture of the cage might be nice.
A dark towel will work, white is fine to just make sure you can't see through it. Leaving a crack just large enough that you can see the lay bin to check on her is a good idea. If she does not lay for a while there is no reason to delay feeding.
How much cover is near the cage top? My Cham walked on the top of the cage when I had to temporarily remove her plants and she was exposed. I think she was trying to hide.
If he is laying on a branch sleeping or with his eyes closed it might be lack of sleep or a bigger problem. If he is lying there awake he is most likely just resting or basking is a warmer area of the cage . My Cham will sometimes sit there watching me or out a window.
Some water will drain into her mouth off her crest but not enough it seems. I would feed her moisture rich foods like hornworms and canalope. Also leave her alone right after misting. She will be more tempted to walk around and drink with nothing watching her
I hate that I have to write this but in a personal experience with a orphan baby deer I learned that when an animal is starved to a certain point they completely loose interest in eating. He is likely nearing death right now because pet smart didn't feed him enough.
I would try to feed him some...
I got the two together because it was the only thing for sale at pet smart at the time. I plan to get a second light for more uvb and to keep plants alive better.
Is that a a piece of plastic tubing in the second picture? I am afraid he will slip on it. A stick or vine would be better. Sand papering the plastic might make it rougher. Sorry to bother you about it, I just saw a story about a Cham falling and breaking several bones. It has me thinking about it.
According to the replies I have it seems scratching is a normal thing. If she was scratching the same spot take a look, if it looks normal it is probably nothing. The worst thing I can imagine for the reson a Cham is itchy is that there if a bit of shed stuck on a leg or something. A warm mist...
I think a mini tree is a great idea. They provide a lot of branches to explore and cover. I personly had a hybiscus tree in my cage( they need a lot more sunlight than I could provide so it is outside now) and Randal loved it. I have a fake tree now, still a lot of space and she likes it but I...
For a lighting setup you need a basking spot with a plant stem/vine under the light and the uvb bulb somewhere over a place the Cham will be( like next to the basking spot for a little light over the whole cage for a big one) I got a connected light fixture made for this by zoo med. It was a...
I think it would work very good as a free range if you did something like hang a pothos plant on the top and let it grow down around the stand. Some extra sticks/vines are good idea, more things to explore.
