    Chameleon shipment in US

I guess I don't understand - were the members concerned and upset with the way the chameleon was packaged and shipped, Eszzie? If so, I don't know what to say other than I believe the shipping method that Screameleons uses is fairly common for shipping small, live reptiles of various sorts...

Do You Heat Your Misting System's Water?

I'll be receiving a Mist King misting system in the coming week and wanted to know if other owners - 1. Heat the water in their misting systems water resevoir? 2. If so, what do you use to heat the water? 3. Lastly, what temperature do you heat it to? I'm thinking that I'd like to...

    Mists And Water

I bought some Cricket Crack because I'd read good things about it from other members and it has a great list of ingredients. I use it as a dry gutload in conjunction with fresh veggies and fruits. Just another option to offer to the crickets.

    Chameleon with a personality

Ozzy looks awesome and it's really cool that he trusts you the way he does and doesn't mind "hanging out" with you! I imagine they all have their own personalities and some are likely to be more outgoing than others when it comes to interaction with humans.

Never realized how many members were from the UK until a great Lidl ad was posted! Wish I still lived over there!

    ambatos or blue diamonds

I'd never heard of them before but I'm new to chameleons so I looked online and found a site or two that claims to have them for sale. http://www.cleanlinechameleons.com/panther-chameleons/ambato-panther-chameleon/ I don't know anything about the company or breeder, however, so I'd...

    Wild caught Ambilobe color comparison

Thanks, Ray. That makes sense. I'm very new to chameleon husbandry and only have one which was captive bred. I can only imagine how challenging importing chameleons could be; and expensive as well I suspect. Forgive my ignorance but what is the advantage to importing as opposed to...

    Zeus needs help!!!

I think that will help. At a minimum it will keep the temperature in his terrarium more regulated. He should still have a heat source he can use for basking if he wants to. The UV light may be enough based on what you've posted, however. I had trouble finding all the Rep-Cal supplements...

Do you feed crickets anything BEFORE the day you gutload them??

I purchase crickets from PetCo because they are the only place in town that has the correct size in decent quantities. I'm pretty sure they don't feed them much of anything before they are purchased but they keep their containiner in the back so I'm not entirely sure. They do pre-bag quanties...

    Wild caught Ambilobe color comparison

There is a terrific contrast between what they looked like when they were living in the wild and what they look like after living in captivity. What is the primary reason for the difference? I imagine living in the wild is much harsher for them where the elements as well as the available...

When did you get an automatic mister?

I just ordered the Mist King Starter Kit a couple days ago and I'm expecting it to arrive within a week. I tried the Zoo Med Habba Mist despite the poor reviews and found the reviews were very accurate; it just didn't work well. I only tried it because I had a 20% off coupon and knew I could...

    Misting System Recommendations

I was able to contact Mist King and request that a seconds timer be added and Marty responded within a matter of minutes saying they could do it!

    Zeus needs help!!!

Hi karstar, while it may not seem that temperature is an issue it may, in fact, be a problem. As others have posted your chameleon should never be exposed to temperatures above 85 degrees even if for a limited time. The temperatures should be more consistent and should not rise and fall with...

    Zeus needs help!!!

Hi karstar and welcome to the forum. You've certainly come to the right place for help and advice regarding caring for your chameleon and specifically working to get Zeus back to good health if possible. It's great that you took the time to fill out the How to Ask for Help Form because...

    Misting System Recommendations

Thanks, skyedog. I'm feeling pretty confiden in my purchase already and I regret not ordering the seconds timer as well. I've actually contacted Mist King customer support to see if there's any chance the timer can still be added to my order; assuming it's not yet shipped. Hopefully it can...

Dripper tube too thick to go through the mesh?

Hi Sandra! I don't mean to hijack the thread and I know I've discussed this in previous posts but I'm still thinking I'd sure like to see Rico actually drink from the dripper directly from time to time; just for my own sanity! I've seen others recently post that they're chameleons are...

Awesome break through with my panther!!!

Hi DeviousMike! Good to meet another "family member" - that Lucifer is quite the stud! Not sure what to tell you with your chameleon. Rico's never seemed overly skittish by any means but it it helps he didn't like the tweezers AT ALL at first and actually got all fired up when he saw them...

    Misting System Recommendations

Thanks for the feedback, Silkyslim. I ordered the Mist King starter kit last night but I did not order the ZipDrip valve or the timer. I couldn't find a way to justify the cost for the ZipDrip valve in my mind if the system only allows 3 or 4 drips after misting without the valve as someone...
