great post kinyonga Like I said, I personaly dont mind it. I find it fascinating that its possible and the bizzare things created can be quite beautiful. Slightly off topic but if you take a "blizzard" cornsnake and breed it to an albino cal king.........you get the first gen of really...

    mixing panthers

This is always a touchy subject with people..............but from the understanding of Panthers I have..............they are all the same species completely and just developed different coloration out of adaptation to a locale. So its not really possible to sterilize them by breeding them...

    Massive cage

Im fairly certain that if given ample prey items and multiple locations of access for UV light...........any chameleon would do well in a large enclosure. Unfortunately having a gigantic enclosure would limit the amount of animals you could keep. Think about taking a complete wall of a...

Too big of a cage and wrong location of a food dish

this I can attest to...........I have three smaller chams in my cages. I just try to get the crickets free ranging on perches near the chams and a could extra here and there. Id rather have dead crickets than dead chams. I must be doing something right, Ive not see two of the smallest ones...

    Best Auto-Mister

pro mist..............all the way worth the money. cant hear the pump running. It can run dry and not burn the pump up the nozzles make a fine mist not "rain" as I see my chams sitting in the mist when they go off. Im glad I spent the money on it.

    New Cage info.

that I dont know about but I look at it like this.......... In the wild, there is no cage boundaries. I just make sure I see them eat something........by putting crickets on the branch they are on........and letting some free range. I would think they are far better off in a larger...

    New Cage info.

you can buy drawer slides for cabinets and make a simple sliding tray. Just a face block with a panel for the bottom and some 1X1 to screw the drawer sliders into. easy "drawer" with no depth.

    New Cage info.

I used 1/4" galvanized hardware cloth for the top of my cages. I couldnt find any hardware cloth that was pvc coated. I used aluminum charcoal grey screen on the doors. For drainage I put a large hole in the potted plant that centers the cage, and used a sink drain (15 bucks for 2) from...

    First crack at building cages

I didnt bevel the bottoms but I did drill a large hole in the base of the planters. The water mist is aimed primarily on the plant in the pot so it drains out of the hole into a sink drain I cut into the base board. The sink drains are stainless and I took the strainer out.............I put a...
