Use a stick to get her out. Assume she is going to huff, puff, and try to bite you. But that is okay, as long as you aren't dragging the process out. The quicker you get her out, the better for both of you. Once she is out of the cage, she should calm down a bit.
If you're afraid of getting...
Hey everyone! I've been having trouble finding silk worm vendors recently. I was able to get a batch from Coastal Silkworms before they ran out, but I need some more, and everywhere I look, they're sold out. Those who use silkworms as feeders, what do you guys recommend? Do you stock up when...
Clutch-mates can range and vary in color quite a bit from my understanding. They also grow at different rates, it looks like they both still have a lot of growing to do. They will change colors over the next few months.
I've had the mistking for about 8 months now and it is amazing. Like they said, it can run dry if you run out of water on a trip, etc. It's a very quality product.
I think this is fairly typical for Veileds, don't take it too personal. Just remember to give him space, and ease him into it over the next few months.
Try getting a long sturdy branch to use and get him out. Most likely he will climb on it as you're putting it in front of him, or you can gently coax him onto it.
You can also try wearing gloves so biting doesn't hurt.
No such thing as a stupid question here, please make sure you ask everything and anything you want to know!
First and foremost, make sure you aren't stressing your cham out. Make sure you are giving them space and not staring at them all day with frequent check ups. If your chameleon is not...
They do have teeth! Sharp little ones.
Monitor her for the next few days, if you can tell her mouth is irritated and she's acting strange, you'll want to consult your vet.
Was looking to see if they would be okay if there were dead, but I think I'd rather steer clear if there's any chance at all of something bad happening.
Appreciate the quick response!
Hey everyone,
In the process of building a new cage and I grabbed a bunch of dead Pine tree or cedar branches from east Texas. I've washed them and will be baking them, but I wanted to see if these would be okay to use in a cage for a male panther chameleon as long as they are dead, cleaned...
She is gorgeous! Looks very healthy. Also, if you aren't already, make sure you're misting 3+ times a day to keep the humidity up, as well as giving her more chances to drink.
Good to see you're willing to take the advice of folks here! And glad to hear it's only a mild URI.
I'd also recommend having horizontal sticks as well as vertical to give your cham basking options, you'll need to form a gradiant for him (easy access to a range of temperatures)

Hey Luke, just saw your thread. I wanted to check in and see how your guy is doing? Kubo (same clutch as yours from Bruce) has been doing well. We've had some mild URIs we've had to deal with, but we can usually get them to go away quickly with some meds.
Hope all is well!
Your cage looks amazing! This is something I'm wanting to do. I actually contact Bill this morning to upgrade my cage to the clearside. I'm planning on painting the foam with non-toxic paint to make it look more rock like.
Thank you for sharing that!
