I would really avoid using a persimmon when theres so many other tried and true options. Persimmons give a sort of numbing sensation in your mouth and I can't imagine it would be fun for a chameleon and their sensitive mouths.
Moss works for me and the chameleon species I have being that he probably won't ever eat the moss. However with a veiled it can be ify. If your going to use moss grab a bag of spanish moss from a home depot or something and drape it over the vines. The moss will look crappy at first but after...
I wouldn't get to worried yet, they will change their behaviors as they get older. Maybe try positioning the dripper somewhere that he relaxes and allow the drops to roll right off his caque and into his mouth. It worked for me and my cham got used to it and always drinks like that now.
Real plants are also important to help keep up with humidity levels, gives them a sense of security so they can hide etc, better sense of well being and in some cases another source of nutrition. Some great plants for your cham are an umbrella tree, pothos, hibiscus, orchids, ferns, baby tears...
Okay that makes sense. I was worried at first of "frying" my cham to be honest lol, so I went with the lowest wattage first. I think on boxing day I will pick up a 40W daylight basking bulb and a new UVB bulb as its been 6 months. My kinyongia is also montane and from what I have read he will...
I was wondering is 25W enough for a good basking temp? It doesn't feel all that warm and I do have it set up on a stand so it's not directly touching the screen. My cham usually sits under his uvb in the mornings and I dont really see him "bask" under the daylight bulb. The temp of his cage is...
So after getting my dubia roaches in august, my cham named Carl finally ate one today. (that I have seen) I used to cup feed them but since they don't move around much at all he never went for them. I started to let them go like I do with crickets yesterday and just this morning an hour after...
Having a little dripper in combo with a mister can be a good idea too. My cham will usually stand right under the drip and allow it to roll down his casque and then he licks it all up. just another option to consider.
I also don't always catch him drinking either. I only saw him drink like that...
I saw this fish gutting table in a flyer. Is it not the most absolutely perfect table for holding your chams cage on or what lol? You could have the cage sit over the sink and all your supplies on the other end of the table! It even has a hose that allows the water to drain right into a closed...
