Great colors and if you keep handling him he'll probably end up pretty docile as well...then of course it's hard to piss them off enough to see what they are really made of. Mine has gotten huffed up less than 5 times and he's almost a year old
My guy would eat dirt everyday up until about 6 or 7 months old. I don't think it's something to worry about unless there are artificial fertilizers or big chunks of vermiculite. He's 10 months now without any problems.
I hypothesis they do this to develop their immune system and pick up trace...
hey,
I've got a Screameleons (Xerxis sired) blue bar ambilobe male. He's super friendly (the type that seriously seems to want to crawl on you) and he's coloring up pretty nicely. I would like to mate him but I really can't care for eggs or a female long term right now.
I have a spare cage and...
Thanks for the advice guys, I'll get in touch with him if things don't change. He mentioned that his reds may start to come out in the next few months.
I would certainly be dissapointed as we talked at length before the purchase. Mistakes happen though I suppose and I'm reallly happy with Leon...
Leon is 9 months old. I was thinking he might end up being a red bar as he is sired by xerxis at screameleons but it seems like he's a blue bar.
Another thing is the flash seems to change the color of his skin. He's not quite as bright as the pictures suggest. Hopefully it's suggesting at...
Seriously, the chameleon community has got to figure out how to captive breed Parson's predictably! Just stunning creatures. I know next to nothing about breeding, and they do seem more complicated to keep, but I dream of a day when they are as available as Panthers.
I'll take two please :)
what local is he? seriously amazing colors. I agree, I like how splotchy they are. Is he pretty excited in that pic?
I do wish breeders would show the normal colors. Some chams seem to be brigther than others relaxed...
I know this is an old thread, but let's get some pics up. I think we should talk snout to vent though, the tail added in gets misleading unless that's the conventional method of measuring chams...I don't know...
Anyway, in retrospect I should have looked a larger breeder because I want a huge...
I see some similiar patterning in him. I guess he's about a month ahead of Leon. I need to take him outside to see if his colors change up. He chills in the window a fair amount though...
Thanks guys. He really is mellow. I put him in front of the mirror for a good minute and he really had no reaction. I hope he gets huge. hes about 7" snout to vent. So I'm thinking he potentially has 6" of growth coming in the next 1-2 years?
What do you guys think?
Here's my Ambilobe (Xerxis sired). If anyone else has a brother, I would love to see the colors. Right now he's looking like a bluebar, but maybe that is going to switch. He's at 8 months and his daytime colors are still pretty dull unless he gets super excited. The flash seems to bring out the...
they are very small white bugs, probably 1/25th the size of the phoenix worms...the smell is not a good one either. It smells like death.
Anyway, I'm bummed, they aren't cheap
Hey,
Had 400 phoenix worms stored at room temp. They all have maggots now. What did I do wrong? just kept the tops on...not really sure how a fly landed in there and laid eggs...weird.
Anyone else had this problem?
